There is finally a chance for peace in the middle east......what will the Islamist do????? I personally don't think they want peace..... I hope I'm wrong!

i doubt the leader of israel and his alliances want peace either ... the world will have to force both parties to make it work but it will be hard as the plan offered by trump is about gaza not cisjordania nor any other places which will lead more issues in the future ... on that one you cannot fault only the islamists even for the supporters of the cult of the supreme leader it is not hard to see and follow ...

Well, looks like they will kill a lot of each other in Gaza for a while. Hamas still hold control for the time being and they will make the most of it. Of course the leftists here hope it doesn’t work. The fact that the biggest political story of the decade was met with silence here on the ARPF showcases boom stick’s TDS thread.

there is no hope but you still do not get it as you are following the cult of the supreme leader ...

lol of course the rightists want it works for israel not for the palestinians ...

Wrong again. The Right wants it to work for the Palestinians if they are peaceful. I, myself, don’t want it to work for Hamas.

nobody want to work with hamas anyway and you have seen that in the common UN declaration by france and saudi arabia ... but not all palestinians are hamas ...

My guess. After seeing their homes destroyed, their fathers and mothers killed, their brothers and sisters killed and their children starved and killed, they will probably redouble their long-term efforts to kill Jews and destroy Israel. Mike

It must be hard for the libs to admit that Trump brought this about when they couldn't. Crickets on their part. They hate Trump more than they love anything, including peace or the lives of innocents.

I think that fat orange turd trying to steal the 2020 election and the largest war in Europe since WWII are both bigger stories than a ceasefire in Gaza.

Biden with USPS friendly help managed to steal that 2020 so what’s your point? Never been lost, just confused here and there for month or two

I haven't been quiet about it. That said, now comes the hard part. Stopping or, as it seems, slowing down the shooting war was an admirable accomplishment. The underlying problem still remains and I am 100% certain that hostilities in one form or another will resume at some point soon.

That you have no clue what reality is, just like the rest of the faithful. Belarus conducts elections in a manner that would suite you well.

The more of them that go that way the better. Can’t see too many people being upset about it, although Irans government might be annoyed. If you take Hamas out of it though the worry is who steps into the void. To achieve peace is going to take a strong will on both sides. Israel will need to curb its hard right including the settlers ( and in the West Bank) and the Palestinians are going to have to marginalise Hamas as far as possible, or ensure that they have a stake in this, however unlikely that seems. The nightmare scenario for them would be the emergence of an even more hard line group taking partial control of Gaza. The more visible the actions of all parties are to the rest of the world the more chance there will be of this working.

Throughout history, the moment country looses war, internal war starts for power within Let them and then adjust for who you deal with after the power struggle is finished That’s all we can do now Never been lost, just confused here and there for month or two

Our best and only hope is the international collation, led by the Islamic Nation States enforce the peace, disarm, and engage Hamas to enable a transfer to a new government in Palestine. JTEX may not like it, but for this to work the Islamic Nation States are the lynch pin.

I agree that the Muslim majority nations are the folks who will make or break this deal. Fortunately, I think that most of them are tired of continual violence as well. States like Kuwait, the UAE, and Qatar are doing too well with the status quo to want more violence in the region. Jordan and Egypt have been living with the consequences long enough that they don’t want more violence, either. The wild cards are Iran and Saudi Arabia who have internal issues that external distractions are sometimes seen as helpful with. Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan have enough going on that they are not able to do much. It’s time for the Islamic religious leaders to put some emphasis on it being the religion of peace.

A few thousand (maybe even a few dozen) Hamas militants with AK's, RPG's, frags and some explosives could end this peace initiative/cease fire tomorrow. I'm not sure how all this is going to play out but Hamas and the rest of their ilk have not suddenly decided to give up on the thing they've been fighting for all their lives.

First, I am going to give Jtex to credit of knowing Islamist is derogatory term he has anchored to the entire Islamic world. The religion is Islam and a practitioner thereof is a Muslim. Second, the Islamic Nation States resolve will be proportional to our support. The international peace force which is the boots on the ground part of this will take casualties. The U.S. just sent a couple hundred troops. If this succeeds in the more ambitious goals it will be because of the Islamic (note the difference) Nation States as co-equal partners. That will depend on US resolve and Israel good faith. Muslims in the outlines peace keeping force are going to be killed by Hamas. How long, they stick around depends, and that is the billion dollar question. I honestly would like Saeed’s input on the perspective of the Islamic Nation States resolve against Hamas in the face of a Hamas, extremist insurgence. This has great potential to re-isolate Iran as the members of the international peace keeping force and counsel deal with enforcing this peace. The Saudis, Jordan, Pakistan, Egypt, and Qatar are not going going to ignore Iran escalating nor supporting an insurrection against a peace they signed off on, and are dying to make happen.
