Not for nothing I called this one.

There are rules for terminating civil servants.

Now, we know that Justice Thomas from a concurrence he wrote would not follow the S. Ct precedent and Fed statute on appointing Special Counsels.

Speaking of rejections, looks like the federal judge presiding over the Eric Adams case has some questions for the DOJ about why they are cutting Adams loose.

Nope. Read the opinion. 2/3rds go over.

And yes, Justice Thomas has said in a concurrence that Special Counsel appointment is unconstitutional. Of course, he does not want to apply Nixon era precedent.
