We've been waiting since Jimmy Carter fumbled the ball in 1979. Now, they gave us a reason. It's overdue.

Netanyahu needs to take the win, and let it end her. It being direct confrontation w Iran.

I am fine with Israel’s initial action.

Iran acted with a non-insane response.

We have never provided active combat troops to Isreal in there 5 plus wars. We have no need to start now.

The U.S. and allies in the region which included Islamic nation states, handled it well.

If we wanted an excuse, their sending the revolutionary guard and Quds force in while we were fighting in Iraq was more than enough reason. They killed US service folks there.

We didn't then. It makes no sense now.

Iran didn't respond too outlandishly- how often have we thrown a few dozen cruise missiles at some offender of our policy?

If they take it as a face saving gesture, good.

If they continue to try and agitate, then we might have to knock them down a few pegs.

I have no doubt our military could devastate Iran in short order. There is no need to attack and occupy them. It wouldn't work anyhow... they seem to like the ayatollahs.

Be careful what you ask for. Americans typically rally around a president in wartime. Your idol Trump wouldn't fare well.

Devastating them would be reasonably straightforward, eliminating their Air Force would take a few days, reducing their air defenses a few more.

Occupation would be a horse of a different color and totally unnecessary. Take out most of the current leadership and cripple the military and leave it up to the Iranian People what comes next.

interesting. Could the US elminate them as a government? of course, probably before lunch. Maybe the military takes a few weeks in terms of real hardware. Then what? 20 years of hiking around the mountains shooting holdouts? I ask myself, could we undertake this? yeah sure. I also ask myself, with the naval disparity with a real threat, is this where the DoD needs to focus?
