Well, I doubt there will be a so quiet you can hear a pin drop.

The losing side (regardless of who) will be whining about unfairness.

The winning side will be gloating.

And the people will continue to get whatever they view the lesser evil as.

I can’t remember ever (even as a grade schooler) being this ambivelent about the election. Trump has better policies that he advocates… too bad I don’t trust him.

Harris has worse policies, but I’m a little more likely to think she will follow through with them.

Neither is an upstanding, smart, moral person although I will give the edge to Harris there.

Both VP’s have sold their souls for political advancement.

Looks like I’m voting bill the cat.

And that's the problem right there: You don't care.

You, like your idol, don't care about the republic, the Constitution, or the American people. And some of you wonder why a few of the more patriotic forum members call you names. I get very tempted myself by posts such as yours.

Why shouldn't true patriots consider you a traitor to the USA for your support of a seditionist? At the least, you're co-seditionists yourselves.

Unlike the OP on Trump, you don't give even one reason why Harris is so "bad." Magine is right: it isn't logic that drives you folks. It's blind party loyalty and hatred for those who disagree with you on any issue.

Yes, my criteria are completely opposite yours.

I disagree with you that narcissism, immorality, and sociopathy are good qualities for a president.

Well, at least you have moved a little off center from your usual false equivalence.

If the Left loses it won't be unfairness they whine about. It will be about the loss of the Founding principles.

If the Left wins it won't be gloating, but instead a big whew, like damn we dodged the bullet once again.

And it won't be viewed by the left as lesser evils, but instead a win in a contest of good vs evil.

IMO, the one thing that Trump is good for is thumping ambivalence in the nose.

What good are policies? Let's talk about project 2025 vs the alternative.

When was the last time you knew of a toxic narcissist who was understanding and moral?

Did Walz ever say his running mate was a Nazi?

JD Vance once called former U.S. President Donald Trump "America's Hitler."

VO Harris will concede graciously.

Due process will be followed and honored.

Those two points assume she loses. You know like Gore did whose legitimate legal challenge got to a 5-4 S Ct., decision.

Trump was dismissed on the pleading.

Says the guy voting for a seditionist.

Lane, fill us in. How do you end up voting for somebody that tried to overturn the result of qeneral election through lies and fraud? I don't recall you, or any other trumptard here on the board, ever responding directly to this question.

Easy for me.
1) I don’t buy into the label of seditionist.
2) I am not convinced that 2020 was an equitable election…it was certainly an irregular one with significant statistical differences from the historical trend.

None of the above justify Trump's behavior or attempts to steal the election, the "perfect phone call" to Raffensperger being the easiest example of his scumbag behavior.

That is why we have a court system, which is where Trump had his ass handed to him, time and again.

Yea, Lane, what would you say if Kamala said she once saw Jane Fonda in the tennis locker room shower and was amazed by the size of her pussy?

And she was envious?

How appropriate would that be for a POTUS candidate to be talking about, true or not, from the platform of a campaign rally?

Does anyone know how many times a POTUS candidate won the popular vote and lost the election?

Offhand I remember Gore and Hillary as examples, both democrats.

2nd question:

Has there been a republican candidate who won the popular vote but lost in the Electoral?

On November 6, we will still have three branches of government, with countervailing powers.
No amount of hysteria is likely to change that. Good chance we will survive either candidate.
Our elected representatives will have the unenviable chore of curbing the excesses of our elected president.

While I am sure the irony is lost on Lane, if Harris loses, he’s right, folks will accept that fact and move on, making the best of the situation. On the flip side, if Trump loses, does anyone believe he and supporters will just move on? Not for a moment. Trump claimed when he lost to Cruz in Iowa in the 2016 primary, that the election was stolen. In 2016, when he won the electoral college but lost the popular vote, he claimed he would have won the popular vote but for fraud. Of course, we all know what happened with the Big Lie in 2020. No, the sad reality is that if Trump loses we are going to have to endure he and his faithful sycophants trying to undo the results, further impugning the electoral process. I cannot wait until the nightmare that is Trump to be over. He is a cancer on our country.

"curbing the excesses"

Hummm

There are at least two factors now that are different from the past.

Take Nixon for example. He was gonna be impeached which required many votes from his own party to get that done. So, he resigned.

The GOP nowadays are cowards, puppets, and corrupt. They will not hold Trump back. Instead they will enable him as much as they can by whatever means they can, ethics be damned.

Plus SCOTUS has granted him specifically and the office in general immunity from prosecutions for crimes against the nation and humanity. It's left up to the moral constraint of the person and we know for sure that Trump is amoral.

If Trump wins, it's not gonna be like it used to be regarding the balanced branches curbing his excesses, not even the judiciary. We see how he thwarts the judiciary now. It will only get worse.

Then there's project 2025, the fascist manifesto, which will be implemented, swift at first then incrementally. And Trump will create 1000 reasons for protests and resistance, plenty to justify turning the military on citizens to gain utter submission. And a GOP congress majority will go along.

And Vance is probably worse than Trump. He's at least slicker, but untethered.
