It already occurred in Minnesota a few times.

I was pleased with Gov. Walz at first. He was moderate and refused to jump in on the rush to judgement in some issues in MN after his election.

He was not full on pro BLM when the Floyd riots happened.

He has done a lot of progressive bidding since then.

Jeffive, I’ve heard a rather different reason that Walz didn’t make CSM. He got out of his unit being deployed.

He’s certainly got more service than I do, and I respect that… but his fellow MNNG soldiers have a different view… and his quips about NG soldiers during the Floyd riots were… denigrating.

I don’t think he’s the end of the world if elected and then something happens to Harris. Heck I voted for him for governor the second time around… but he’s definitely got baggage….

Oh and several family members were in his high school classes.

I will take that over the consequences Dobbs has given us.

All the more reason Plan Parenthood v Casey should not have been overturned as it allowed states to ban late term abortions.

He has an A rating from the NRA.

Harris will and is the one to set and direct policy. However, I like him.

He was recently quoted that he was proud of his F rating by the NRA. So what is it? A or F I can't believe a progressive supporting the second amendment.

According to The NY Times he was rated an A until he signed a bill that expanded background checks and was a version of a red flag law.

Walz also signed legislation that increases penalties for acquiring a weapon on behalf of someone else who is not eligible to own a firearm. This law went into effect earlier this month.

I have no problem with expanding background checks, nor harsher penalties for straw buys, nor civil proceedings concerning those who demonstrate to courts to be a risk to themselves or others. The S. Ct., has recently upheld civil finding restricting firearms.

Says more about the NTA they downgraded his A to an F over these pieces of legislation.

Before becoming governor, Walz represented a rural district in Minnesota in Congress, where he developed a pro-gun rights record that earned him “A” ratings from the NRA and the group’s endorsement, with Walz saying in a 2010 statement he was “proud to stand with the NRA to protect our Second Amendment rights.”

As a congressman, Walz voted in favor of legislation that made it easier for veterans deemed “mentally incompetent” to own guns and restricted gun control measures in Washington, D.C., and he sponsored a bill that expanded hunting and recreational shooting access, among other measures.

After the 2018 shooting in Parkland, Florida, Walz—then a gubernatorial candidate—came out in favor of stricter gun measures in a Minneapolis Star-Tribune op-ed, in which he said the NRA was “the biggest single obstacle to passing the most basic measures to prevent gun violence in America” and emphasized he had long supported “common-sense reforms” like universal background checks, banning “bump stocks” for guns and prohibiting people on the No Fly List from purchasing guns.

Walz said he had also donated the $18,000 he received in donations from the NRA to a charity that helps families of troops who are killed or injured while serving, and came out in favor of an assault weapons ban.

Walz has pushed gun control reforms as governor, signing a suite of measures into law in 2023 including universal background checks and “red flag” rules that make it easier to take guns away from people who are at higher risk of injuring themselves or others.

Gov of Minnesota is a life long Hunter, voted to help veterans keep firearms, signed some bills passed by the state legislature as the original intent of the Commission and Bill of Rights permitted, signed a bill making criminals who engage in straw buying receive harsh punishments is bad.

The guy who banned a class of weapons through Executive Action and called hunting a horror show is good.

Whenever I hear such criticism, I ask, What was it the mayor or governor should have done? Order troops to mow the protesters down in the streets? Put property ahead of lives?

Appalled American citizens would call the incident the Walz Massacre. Remember the Kent State Massacre? Or was that before your time?

So I'll ask it again: What should Walz have done about the Floyd riots?

I'm sure mayors and governors all over the country would love to hear your ideas.

What Walz should have done is what he did do, only 2-3 days sooner.

Instead of pissing around arguing with small fry (Mayor Fry of Minneapolis) over who was in charge and pissing around with the NG command staff over order format.

You complain about Trump on 1/6, Minneapolis was an identical situation of no one wanting to do their job. Law enforcement, Mayor, Governor, AG, and the guard hierarchy all f-Ed up.

There was a very damning report to that effect.

Well, there was one person who thought Governor Walz handled the situation very well, and said so at the time.

Of course, the guy is a compulsive liar so Republicans feel free to ignore everything he said...

Doc. Read the article by Dan Hollaway
Tim walz's abandonment of his unit is unforgivable.
Know anything about it, true, half true, and so on?

Hell, trump has been shot at more than walz.

One thing about politics, it is gonna drag the ugly out of anyone who runs. Harris and walz included. I predict they end up looking as bad as trump.

CNN's Tom Foreman fact checked Walz's claim he carried weapons in war.
No proof at all he did.
