The remainder of Trump's fraud trial in New York starts today, but all that remains is to determine just how much he has to pay. Because he hires completely incompetent attorneys they didn't file the paperwork to request a jury trial in time so by default he got a bench trial where the presiding Judge weighs the evidence and determines whether he's Liable or not. The evidence was simply overwhelming so he was not only found Liable but all entities doing business under the Trump Organization and it's subsidiaries, and Eric and Donald Jr. and Trump CFO Weisselberg were all banned from conducting business in New York State and their assets within the State ordered into receivership for liquidation. The State requested a fine of $250 million but with penalties it could total as much as $600 million. Which he probably doesn't have and will have to borrow from Putin or MBS. It was really as simple as checking a box on the paperwork indicating they wanted a jury; they didn't check it. The problem with suing her for malpractice is the only substantial payday she ever got was $2 million from Trump, she mostly handled legal matters for parking garages before him. In Texas, you have to ask and tender a $30 payment for the jury fee. But, even if you don't pay the fee timely, they still give you a jury. It's literally a recitation in the petition that states "Plaintiff/Defendant requests trial by jury and tenders the appropriate fee herewith." And, any lawyer representing trump who doesn't have her malpractice premiums paid up is an idiot. According to Article 1, Section 2 of the US Constitution, one who runs for the House must be an inhabitant of the State in which they shall be chosen. In this case,Newsom appointed her as a replacement and the courts have spoken of this in a number of cases seemingly supporting or otherwise providing a legal basis for the action. I’m sure she will work tirelessly to represent at least some of California and its residents. | |||
