I'm from Texas and old so the Von Erich family story hits home. It's tragic and crazy.

But, this is a damn good movie. Highly recommend.

I watched tapes snd have a few on DVD of Flair’s matches with Kerry and David.

Flair wrestled Kerry. Kerry was so high on a downer that Flair had to slam himself and put himself in holds. They announced in the arena Kerry wrestled the World Champion with a 103 degree fever. Naw, he was just super stoned.

Now, when Kerry was Well he was Hell. David from my limited viewing after the fact was better.

Yeah, it's not really about all of that. Just a good movie, IMO

I did not think so.l; just remembering.

Except, I doubt you can tell the tragedy of this family without Kerry’s drug use.

The wrestling, the boxing, the racing, the football, the baseball of and sports movie that transcends into cinema/film uses the physical as a method of telling the human human story.

MM, when I had dish network for a little while, the history channel had a series called The Dark Side of the Ring.
I'm amazed any of them lived to retire with the lifestyle they lived.

Jacksboro played Lake Dallas in non-district football through the 70s and early 80s. One of the boys, the youngest I believe, played across the line from me all the way from 8th grade through HS. He was a damn good football player and was all-state I believe every year he was in HS.

It was a tragic family for sure.

I think only one of them did.

Their dad was one seriously screw-up individual if his portrayal in the movie is accurate.

Anyway, I don't go to many movies. It is definitely worth a watch.

I meant any of the wrestlers in general. Between steroids, other drugs, drinking, traveling everyday to one venue or other. The lifestyle is more deadly than my combat days.
If you can find the series, it's an interesting watch.

Never heard of any of these people. Then again, I’ve never been interested in fake “sports”…Pro wrestling ( which I assume this thread refers to) is a joke and scripted bullshit designed to fool gullible idiots. 2020
