And Fascist fodder are not?

We already have some aspects of socialism, such as social security and Medicare, and to some degree unemployment Ins. and welfare. What would a fascist do about that? Hint - consult Hitler's directives.

A direct question to ME and Jeffive:

Does nationalization of private business come from the Right, or the Left?

Showing results for "does fascism advocate nationalization of private business?"

"In general, fascist governments exercised control over private property but they did not nationalize it. Scholars also noted that big business developed an increasingly close partnership with the Italian Fascist and German fascist governments after they took power."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...0they%20took%20power.

Nationalization was (past tense) one of the major mechanisms advocated by reformist socialists and social democrats for gradually transitioning to socialism. In this context, the goals of nationalization were to dispossess large capitalists, redirect the profits of industry to the public purse, and establish some form of workers' self-management as a precursor to the establishment of a socialist economic system.[6]

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Capitalism provides incentives to be productive and has led to great wealth while simultaneously leading to widening gaps in income equality.

A defining feature of socialism is public ownership of the means of production where the government allocates jobs and basic needs for the entire population are taken care of.

In contrast to socialism, capitalism depends on market forces to allocate resources efficiently, and the government has little to no involvement.
The U.S. currently has elements of socialism, such as Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment.

Socialism, as seen through its implementations in various countries, has proved to be impractical as it did not achieve the mass equality it sought to.

Emulating the socialist aspect of Nordic countries could provide a template, including overall well-being, highly organized labor markets, universal welfare states, and relatively high levels of public ownership of capital.

As long as children go to bed hungry, more than we have.

"Nationalization" - by the std definition is associated with socialism, in the pure and final end.

"Stance" is a loaded word. I don't have a stance on definitions except it is what it is.

What I have a "stance" on is skewed associations of certain words and definitions in relation to reality.

I'll add - these homeless camps need help too, instead of blame.

Does anyone ever wonder why the tiny home and camper homes and even people living in vans and cars has become such?

How will capitalism fix or even address that?

How can we brag about being the richest, greatest Country on Earth when our people are not all housed and fed?

The Scandinavian countries have found that they save money by making sure that everybody has the basics.

Of course, they don't have it ingrained in their culture that your status is determined primarily by how much more you have than anyone you can see.

Everybody has enough, most have varying degrees of more according to their desires and abilities.

How do you convince some, that their children being fed is more important than their drug use?
Or shelters will take them in and feed them if they stop their drug use.
No-one seems to have an answer for some questions.

I've never been hooked on drugs, the only thing I ever injected into myself was Nerve Agent Antidote, but apparently without treatment they can be hard to quit.

If treatment is available to everybody who needs it we'll have a lot fewer addicts, in most of America there's a waiting list for months for people who want help.

It's cheaper to help them than leave them on the streets for months scuffling for their fixes, but Republicans enjoy other people suffering while they sip scotch, apparently it enhances the flavor.

My state is big on help, will even give rides to treatment centers.
Most dont seem to want the help, or stick with it if they do.
They are always trying to get more addicts to take advantage of the clinics they have.
I am not sure how many are " a lot fewer", but it seems there are always more no matter how many get clean.

Abject poverty, homelessness and lack of mental health care guarantees a conveyor belt of new customers for the dealers.

You can't attack just one link in the chain.

Lots of stuff laid eggs before chickens came along.

Get everybody a space indoors as a start, and not in some Salvation Army barracks where a mother with a couple kids would never feel safe or the rules and praying would make living under a bridge preferable for a junkie. Nothing wrong with tiny houses that have the basics, electricity, hot and cold running water, a roof that doesn't leak and an address. We can work up from there but that should serve as a baseline.

Everybody?
You must live in la-la land.
Reporters talk to people in homeless camps, and to the aid workers who try to help them.
Many refuse help. "to many rules" is the usual reason for refusal. Some would need to be on medication, they refuse. Whether they dont like how it makes them feel, or interferes with the drugs they take.
Unless the gov is willing to force things on them, there will never be a full solution.

You're right, let's stick with the Republican solution and do nothing. After all, if we can't help everybody why help anybody?

Certainly not, but making basic housing available to those who lack it would help a great deal.

And, the republican solution is to blame them, make them wrong, for their situation, and act like the druggies represent of the root of the problem, so let them all squaller in the cesspool of their own making.

If even half the homeless street people CHOSE to accept help, if available, and the numbers decreased instead of steadily increase, that would be a good and worthwhile thing, IMO.

As I have said, my state is big on help, there is still homeless in the cities. Mostly because they refuse to give up drugs, which they have to do to be placed in housing.

If what you are doing isn't working, try something else. It might be that people with even a small secure space of their own are more amenable to getting treatment than those living under a bridge.

It's worth a shot.

It was tried Jeff. Then the places turned into drug dens for as many as could pack in there. It then made it dangerous for neighbors.
My idea is give everyone 6 months to get clean. After that flood the streets with poisoned pills.
I have no use for addicts that refuse help.

If any child goes to bed hungry in the USA, don't you think it falls on the parent(s)?

Lets see, the various Gov offerings include: welfare, disability, WIC, SNAP(food stamps), D_SNAP, school-meals, Food assistance for Native Americans, food assistance for older adults, Dial 211 for help finding emergency housing, HUD, and the list goes on and on.

In addition, there are all kinds of private charities, such as Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, https://www.coloradocoalition.org/housing, STEP 13, and the list goes on and on.

In short, no child needs to go hungry in this country.

Just did a check.
If you are homeless, you still have access to,
SS
Medicare Medicaid
CoC
Hud exchange programs
HHS
TANF
SNAP
And other agencies.
So you are wrong Jeff, you do not need an address to receive benefits.

I’d say homelessness is somewhat of a lifestyle/choice
9th Circus just said you cannot remove bums from the streets
You build it they will come ( Field of dreams )
You help bums, more will show up just like if you feed animals, they will show up regularly
Ask every city and municipality and they will confirm

Nothing like standing over your own kill
