On Aug. 21, former President Bill Clinton shared some seemingly implausible statistics about job creation in the United States. He claimed during his speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, that since 1989, 50 times more new jobs were created under Democratic presidents than under Republican presidents.

“You’re going to have a hard time believing this, but so help me, I triple-checked it,” Clinton said. “Since the end of the Cold War in 1989, America has created about 51 million new jobs. I swear I checked this three times, even I couldn’t believe it. What’s the score? Democrats 50, Republicans 1.”

Clinton was implying that 50 million jobs were added under Democratic presidents while only 1 million were added under Republican presidents.

President Biden and the Democrats have nothing to do with compiling statistics regarding employment from the Department of Labor. The folks that screwed this up are all career employees of the DOL. Government drones who compile statistics.

When Bill Clinton spoke at the Democratic National Convention this week, he shared an economic claim that seemed implausible:

“You’re going to have a hard time believing this, but so help me, I triple-checked it. Since the end of the Cold War in 1989, America has created about 51 million new jobs. I swear I checked this three times. Even I couldn’t believe it. What’s the score? Democrats 50, Republicans one.”

In other words, over the last 35 years, employers have added roughly 51 million jobs in the United States, and 50 million of them — 98% — have been created during Democratic administrations.

Is that true? Actually, yes.

To be sure, the claim comes with caveats — the former president didn’t have to start the clock in 1989, for example — but according to the data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 51.5 million jobs have been added since January 1989, and roughly 1.3 million of them were created while a Republican president sat in the White House.

No, on the executive branch departments and agencies. But like a ceo, the buck should stop there. If someone on my team had reported positive results then came back over a million in offer, there would be problems, I would have relied on the data. That this isn't the "first offense" there would have been an acknowledged resignation
