I think I've found the problem with MEGAdites.

They have been banging their heads against a wall.

Wow.

Now Trump, the master at flipping the script, has co-opted the term Fascist.

"Wow, this is turning out to be the greatest & most vicious instance of ELECTION INTERFERENCE in the history of our Country," he wrote. "Remember, I’m leading DeSanctimonious BIG in the Polls but, more importantly, I’m leading Biden by a lot. Also, & perhaps most importantly, they are launching all of the many Fake Investigations against me RIGHT SMACK IN THE MIDDLE OF MY CAMPAIGN, something which is unheard of & not supposed to happen. DOJ, FBI, NEW YORK A.G., NEW YORK D.A., ATLANTA D.A. FASCISTS ALL!"

Jines, are you talking about who was more divisive?
Obo raised it over Bush for sure, Trump took it to another level. Bidden is doing nothing to repair the damage done by either, but not adding to it.

. . . so there we have it. Out of last four Presidents, Trump was the most divisive of the bunch by a long shot. Kudos for at least having the chutzpah to respond . . . Jim and Blueduck ran from the question like stripped ass apes.

As I have never more than tolerated any president we have had in my lifetime, it's not a hard question to answer. Most I dislike just for being politicians.

Yeah, tolerate is a good word, I guess.

I now mostly vote against candidates, not so much for candidates. I feel like I am left with no choice when the best person the republicans can offer is trump.

You do that from time to time, and I haven't responded.

I too think you are a decent person and have a good heart. That's the only reason I figure it's worth bantering with you.

We differ on so much fundamentally that it's a good contrast.

Truth is Trump was far more divisive than Obama and left the country much more fragmented and divided. The fact that anyone could suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

0bama is the disease…Trump is a symptom of the disease.

I agree Trump, while putting forth much of the correct policy, was the wrong personality for the job. Hence forth, I will work and vote against him in the Primary process. His divisional traits however, are almost all superficial.

0bama on the other hand set in motion a division that cuts at the very heart and soul of what America is and truth be told…just like Ruth Bader Ginsburg…he despises the strength and content of our Constitution.

Well, Lane could not have expressed "ridiculous" any better.

That's hard core. No room to argue with extreme conclusions stemming from gawd knows where, (I know where) contrary with facts or just void of facts.

As I've said before, several times, the division that came forth during Obama's era was already there and had/has been an undertow for a long time.

But, the same could be said for Trump and his effect. The fascist fodder were there all along, like 50 year caddisflies, waiting to hatch when conditions seemed right.

I now call it queer beer. Wink

I just buy it as a small token to counter the boycott, which is obviously part of the culture war waged by the right.

Big Grin

An old old grocery store in Gainesville that has never sold beer…opened a beer department this week. In the past…one whole compartment would have been dedicated to Bud Light. They did not even stock it! The latino community, historically a big % of Bud Light sales…is the most steadfast in this boycott…they have almost entirely switched to Miller Lite.

It is unclear if Bud Light will survive as a brand.

I looked some of his speeches and remember hearing some of them at the time, and had no problem with them. I figured they were generally wholesome. No cringe.

OTOH, I have problems with all Trump's speeches, and any time he opens his mouth, tweets, etc. Trump is very skin-crawling cringeworthy.

It's awful that for some and in some ways voting has become our only way of legal retribution, in a small way.

Such a shame. Voting should be a positive thing.

Lane, I find it impossible, really, to understand how anyone could not find Trump's voice, mannerisms, messages, tone, everything about him, cringeworthy and creepy.

But it is interesting that some people don't feel that way. It says something, but I'm not sure what.

I would take a shoulder rub from Biden any time, but not Trump. He's too creepy. Plus he has small hands. Big Grin

One has to remember that you are in Texas.

I don't know how that affects perspectives, but it surely does. Must be the water. Wink

Texas is NOT representative of America. Get that!!!!

The evidence is exactly as you presented.

One thing I have noticed is that Texans think their perspectives are salt of the earth, God given, righteous, unflappable, etc.

It ain't so.

I have several Texan "friends". They are all like you except one and he has his own quirks.

I learned to not talk politics or religion with them. We fish a lot, sit around the campfire, share lies and tales. We used to drink Bud Lite, but I don't know what they have in their coolers lately.
