After 9 years, Texas AG Ken Paxton pleads out his felony securities fraud charges. He has to do community service and pay restitution. Unbelievable.

At least he agreed to resign. Texas is stuck with a crook as our attorney general for the forseeable future. Until he decides to run against John Cornyn and become a US Senator, I guess.

I see Ted Cruz is leading Colin Alred by 8 too. Cancun Cruz for another 6 years.

Texas. 2020

But at least Paxton has to get 15 hours of ethics training.

Law school and 20 years in elected office didn't teach him any ethics but 15 hours will fix that.

Turns out that the prosecutors apparently fucked things up. They were in court looking for a continuance of the April 15 trial setting last week.

After nine years, they claimed they needed more time.

Not surprisingly, the judge denied the motion.

Plea agreement follows immediately.

Paxton is starting to remind me of trump. No matter what kind of sketchy shit he pulls, he always manages to get away with it.

You know what is funny about that is that all Texas lawyers are required to do 15 hours of CLE every year in order to maintain their license. With three of it ethics. So, the "penalty" is basically something he was required to do already.

It's not working.
