Yeap, the guy who took on Capitalist, big banks, labor disparity, and created administrative agencies and regulations. He also fought along side African American troops. While I agree with his reservation/restoration of wild places, I do look sideways at the use of executive orders to do. I am also not blinded at the ethnic observation Ms in African Game Trials. However, I find it interesting both far left and far right said the same thing about Middle East not being capable from a cultural evolution standpoint of civilized self-government in the liberal tradition embraced by the West. He is my favorite.

When I was in high school or college, can't remember which, in American History class the assignment was to write something about a person of significance in the past. I chose Theodore Roosevelt. I did a lot of research then and have continued over time. He is still my favorite. ************* Degenerate 1:1 1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it". If he said it he was talking about the Texas of a century ago. He would horsewhip people like Abbott and Paxton in public. "If you’re innocent why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”- Donald Trump

His quote sums up lots of the Texans i know today. Politicians are clowns, im talking about people. It is a pride thing, I went to Wharton, and live in Denver but I will always be a Texan. Some here might understand.

TR was a force to be reconned with. Wish we had a clone now. But that said, the bar in the Menger Hotel in San Antonio is a must visit. TR recruited Rough Riders there and they haven't changed it much. But go early. Last time I was there, it closed at 9.

Teddy Roosevelt was certainly a fine president (I always thought he was the best we had). More than that, he was a fine man. Compare him to what we have to choose from today. I think the OP quote might have been about Montana. Regards, Bill.

There's a lot to like about Texas. I try to visit my friends in East Texas at least once a year, for catfishing and hog hunting. It's mostly good unless we talk politics, which we avoid. "Better Place" is subjective. IMO, any place that generates politicians like Paxton or Cruz or Perry or Abbott and especially like Trump has some sort of menacing gear in the machinery. ************* Degenerate 1:1 1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it". The Roughriders trained out of Las Vegas, New Mexico. There is a museum there. The New Mexico historian who would become territorial governor, George Curry, fought as a Rough Rider in the Spanish American War in the Philippines and so impressed Roosevelt that he was made a provincial governor when the islands were a U.S. Protectorate. Among other interesting accomplishments, he was in on the three-day poker game at my great-great Uncle Tobe Tipton's saloon in Tularosa in 1898. The players included Albert Fall (think Teapot Dome), Uncle Tobe, Curry, local Jeff Sanders and the Texan from Buffalo Gap, Oliver Lee -- then under suspicion for the disappearance of Col. Albert Fountain and his son in the White Sands. As the game got under way, in walked Doña Ana County Sheriff Pat Garrett and he was invited to join. The players were nervous that at some point either Lee or Garrett -- both heeled -- might pull a sixgun, but the game ended amicably, with Lee the winner. The lesson I take is that you needn't be from Texas to have grit, but it doesn't hurt! I now return you to regular programming. There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t. – John Green, author

Happy to hear you're good Jeffe. I noticed the flood area perimeter map bumped up against Crosby, hope Jim and his family are okay too. We suffered a flood in 2004. Luckily we didn't lose everything like several neighbors, but cleaning wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow of mud out of our home was awful. That was 20 years ago this September and I still get all wound-up before forecasted storms. .

Come on down and show me how it's done -- but, of course, you are just shooting your mouth off - SJRA is a PRIVATE company, no function of the state ... dang, your snark AF comments sure would hit home if you were informed. Coeur d' Alene, Idaho -- population 50k ... i know that's a big deal for Idaho -- we have SEVERAL sports stadiums that can hold that many, up to 200% more, some of those are at colleges - heck, we have several collage campuses with a higher population -- "scale" is at issue -- and if you are using ANYTHING you see at home as a measurement, you might check the scale The Corp of Engineers is competent to manage dams .. give credit where it's due... but thanks for your opinion.. you don't mind if I file it next to wymple's, do you? oh, and your display of sympathy is amazing, you must be a GREAT guy to be around opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? During Hurricane harvey, which the SJRA screwed up, flooded the neighborhood down from mine (it's separated by a pipeline right of way) and my company allowed me to volunteer to help those flooding victims. my triathlon team and I did 18 houses, of mucking out, cutting off sheetrock at 47", ripping out carpet, cleaning out messes, and feeding the families. Sure, we were just a bunch of friends helping neighbors -- but that's how Texans do it opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Roger that. I lived in Denton years ago for a few months, volunteering my services at a halfway house in Sanger. As a third generation Arizonan whose paternal Grandmother was born in the territories before Statehood, I recognized many similar traits and shared values with my Texas friends. One of the things I found really great about Texas was their generosity, and like the Arabs, their fantastic hospitality. Holy smokes can they put on a spread. Did you know they have these things called "BBQ Guns"? Lol, I don't care who you are, that's pretty effing cool. As far as all the baseless axe grinding going on here, well, most Texans will wear that on their sleeve, as well they should. .

Wow, talk about defensive. Did my jest hit that close to home? No matter how you spin it--getting personal along the way, I note--you said a Texas corporation needs federal help. I find that ironic. And now you want to brag that your city has more people than my small town? LOL, okay. If population density is your thing, why should I intrude? Me, I like a small town where other drivers don't act like they're out to kill you. I see that among my other faults, I'm not sympathetic enough to suit you. I'd feel sorry for you... except I'm not sympathetic.

Your higher population buys you more votes on the EC and more votes in the House. That is all. I know it hurts your feelings, but Texas has no more rights as a state than Vermont on the low population end (Vermont could have as many votes in the EC and House if it had the population) and California (which does have the population to have as many votes in the Federal scheme) is not opinion. That is legal fact. Fact is you admitted a Texas entity needs the expertise of a Federal entity.
