Seems like a stand-alone topic. Professional crook Texas AG Ken Paxton falsified loan documents on three houses. Honest mistake I am sure. And, I bet the Texas AG office will be filing an Amicus brief in support of Leticia James. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/0...0Colombians.-,Mr.,Mr

The race between Paxton, John Cornyn and Wesley Hunt is an interesting race that gives me pause. I like John Cornyn and he as served Texas well for years so I'm hesitant to vote against him, but I also really like Wesley Hunt. He would be a good Senator for Texas.

The race between Paxton, John Cornyn and Wesley Hunt. The 2026 Republican primary for the U.S. Senate in Texas, featuring incumbent John Cornyn, Attorney General Ken Paxton, and Congressman Wesley Hunt, has been described by some analysts as potentially contentious and unpredictable. The primary has created divisions within the Texas Republican Party, with the outcome dependent on shifting voter dynamics and the possibility of a runoff election. Context of the race A crowded and expensive contest: The race is expected to be one of the most bruising and costly primary elections of the 2026 midterm cycle, potentially costing over $100 million. Divisions in the Texas GOP: The primary pits the party's more establishment, business-aligned wing, represented by Cornyn, against the hardline, conservative wing, which aligns with Paxton. Hunt's entry complicates the field further by appealing to voters from various factions. Increased likelihood of a runoff: With three prominent candidates splitting the vote, it is more likely that no candidate will reach the 50% majority required to win the primary outright. This would trigger a runoff election in late May 2026 between the top two vote-getters. Possible general election impact: The fierce primary battle has led some Democrats to see an opportunity in the deep-red state, believing the divisive contest could create an opening for a Democratic candidate in the general election. The candidates and their positions: Ken Paxton Background: The controversial two-term Attorney General has faced multiple legal and political challenges, including a 2023 impeachment attempt and federal and state investigations. Key factors: Paxton remains popular with grassroots conservative voters despite his scandals and has leveraged his support from Donald Trump in previous elections. However, a recent poll shows his job approval slipping among Republicans, possibly due to renewed attention on his legal issues. John Cornyn Background: The four-term U.S. Senator represents the more traditional, business-friendly wing of the Texas GOP. Key factors: After initially trailing Paxton significantly in early polling, Cornyn has closed the gap through a major television advertising effort. His campaign has highlighted concerns about Paxton's character and electability in the general election. Wesley Hunt Background: A former Army combat veteran and rising Republican star, Hunt has a strong connection to Donald Trump's political orbit. Key factors: As the most recent entrant, Hunt's candidacy acts as a potential spoiler, drawing support primarily from the far-right wing of the party. Recent polling suggests his supporters would prefer Paxton over Cornyn in a runoff scenario. Recent polling data: A University of Houston–Texas Southern University poll conducted in late September 2025 shows a tight three-way race: Ken Paxton: 34% John Cornyn: 33% Wesley Hunt: 22% Undecided: 11% If no one candidate secures an outright majority, the race will proceed to a runoff election. A key finding of the poll is that Hunt's entry into the race appears to draw more support from Paxton's base than from Cornyn's. ************* Degenerate 1:1 1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it". Disagree with every position Cornyn has ever taken but I don't think he is a lying crook like Paxton. Don't think Hunt is going to be a factor. Might take away from Paxton. Cornyn is spending a ton of money on advertising in the DFW area.

I like Cornyn and I like Hunt. Don't think I've ever been as torn on who to vote for.

. . . I am interested to see how James Talarico does . . . the candidate that Joe Rogan said should run for President. Cornyn, Hunt and Paxton are just Trump dicksuckers although Paxton enjoys the distinction of also being a turd of human. Mike
