Serious question, not meant to be a partisan attack.

What is the comfort level in this sub-forum of reports that Hunter Biden is sitting in on WH meeting?

With his troubled past, just the optics alone seem troublesome.

Much ado about nothing I'd say.

Honestly Steve, I have issues with it, but not just because of his past.

After JFK we made a solid attempt to reduce nepotism in our government.

This is backsliding.

Nancy Regan had too much control over access to the president, not to mention that goofy astrologic crap.

Bill Clinton let Hillary have way too big an official role.

Obama allowed Biden to let Hunter get the camel's nose under the tent flap...

And now, both Trump and Biden are giving high level advisory roles to their children.

Maybe Hunter will turn it around with a 2 billion dollar boost from the Saudis. You were all apparently OK with that

What difference does it make?

Trump’s Bimbo and her husband sold American interests to fill up their pockets!

How much did Israel pay him to get Trump to officially recognize the Golan Heights as belonging to Israel!

Why did the name it Trumville?

It is America.

Nothing but TOTAL CORRUPTION!

You measure a politician by how much bribes he gets! rotflmo

I dont want any family involved with presidential business. Even if it's allowed, it shouldnt be. The family should not be in any position to profit from the president.

Why obfuscate the question with a Straw Man argument?

I do not like Donald Trump, JC getting 2 billion sucked. Now answer the question.

To add;

"We" have/are allowing 536 people to destroy this country. The political divide is now so large, I don't know how or even if it can ever come back.

The political class has been successful making us go after each other, divided by a few political issues.

I say this often here, it seems to fall on deaf ears, "We as Americans, have far more in common than that which divides us".

I practice what I preach and will not "go after, or use expletives" simply because we have a few disagreements.

America needs to see who our actual enemy is, its is the system. The system that once these reps/senators/presidents gain office, it is nearly impossible to get them removed.

Removing them and starting over is the only answer. BOTH SIDES.

How about said this way; in the Grand Scheme, political nepotism in our nation is a burr so tiny,....

We think Marry Todd Lincoln weighed in on presidential affairs, we think Teddy Roosevelt's family had influence. Id think Trump's children were a calming and beneficial influence on their whacko dad.

It's acceptable and normal now to elect representatives to Congress that don't actually reside in their district or state! Most of the candidates we vote for don't actually, truthfully share our values and priorities, Trump and Biden being easy examples.

The last candidate I voted for that I really thought shared my priorities was McCain in 2000. The senator campaigned on, "Straight Talk", had very extensive foreign affairs experience and was a fiscal conservative. There was everything to like in addition to his military service and family history as well as being a Westerner which is important to voters like me.

Turn the page to 2016 and it's two New Yorkers. You gotta be kidding. Everything about Hillary was shady and deceitful including her residency. Not to mention our previous several decades experience with her. The other New Yorker had a crummy reputation as well as history and the best that could be said about him was that he had great kids,......who weren't on the ballot! We weren't voting for the kids!
2020 2020 2020
I didn't vote for either of them in 2016 or 2020 and won't next time either.

I think it'll be pretty easy for any of the political groups to win seats and even a majority in our government as soon as they start fielding good candidates. We know they're out there, there's plenty of good people right here on this very forum.

I don't care, one way or the other - If Joe wants to bring-your-kid-to-work-day, sure fine .. if joe exposes national secrets to the unqualified, that's on him, and is a matter with the DoJ+Biden ..

from a day to day perspective, i would be hard pressed to decide between that and what color kibble someone in LA feeds their dog

well, that's almost true .. i do care if people are mistreating their dogs quite a bit more than i care if hunter does a ride along

I think when Joe Biden told Oprah and the rest of the world on October 29, 2020, that:
"He's the smartest guy I know"
in reply to a question about his son Hunter, we all knew Joe was speaking with a parent's hyperbolic pride.

But now, almost 4 years later, I wonder at the seeming lack of common sense shown by exclaimimg a Navy washout, crackhead, banging 2 whores at time, felon is coaching Dad for the George Snuphalapagus interview on CBS just days after a dismal debate performance...

Comfortable, not really.

Wonder and amazement, absolutely.

Doesn't bother me unless Hunter is being provided national secrets or is financially benefiting like the Trump kids did.

If I was drafted and forced to be president, I'd want to consult the people I trust the most, family. I doubt my brothers would want official appointments though.

Considering that Republicans want to place a guy with 34 felony convictions in ALL the White House briefings this is a nothingburger.

Scott-

Here's why it matters; Hunter Biden (HB) has made a career out of selling his name. Whether he has sold favors his father can deliver on...who knows. I think he has, but since there is no real proof, let's just say no, he hasn't.

But, The fact that he has a documented history, why would the POTUS allow him to sit in on who know's what? national defense discussions? military strategy discussions? point is, we just don't know.

What we do know is that HB has a history of making bad decisions. Why take any chances whatsoever? Just the optics of this is bad.

Our Nations most sensitive discussions all begin in the oval office or White House in President Biden's presence. HB is, in my opinion a security risk.
