US President Joe Biden has said only the "Lord Almighty" could convince him to end his bid for re-election, as he sat for a rare primetime interview in an effort to calm Democratic concern over his candidacy.

Wouldn't it be nice if he could put the good of the country first and agree to step back rather than consign us to four years of the orange child.

I'm not a Biden supporter, but who stands the best chance of beating the orange petulant child? A good VP who could succeed him would help. 100,000 Biden votes in Iowa won't swing it his way.

He's never lost a general election and has been on every winning Democratic Presidential ticket this century.

There's nobody alive who knows American politics better, and 14 million Democrats voted for him to be the Nominee.

Yeah, if I had just been talking about being the Vice President for the first black President and having the first black woman serving as my Vice President there's no way I'd ever get it twisted, because like you, I'm perfect.

Did you actually watch the debate? I would dearly love for him to step aside and make way for Candidate X who no matter who they are stands a good chance of beating Trump. Otherwise, his streak of never losing a general election ain't looking good.

That is my vote. Sadly, neither have the moral fortitude to step aside. I am willing to believe President Biden does not have the understanding of what is actually happening to make that decision. His family cars more about the perks of the White House.

Absolutely, but I’d stake my next 20 years paychecks that Trumps ego would mean the only way to get him off the ballot would be a bullet through the head.

So, we are supposed to believe that God will give Joe instructions and Joe will remember them? I can't wait for that press conference.

I saw a disgusting video recently which showed some detail on Putin using God as justification for his invasion and destruction in Ukraine.

I thought this thread was going to be about that from the heading.

Anyway, in large part Trump's base is the same thing. Why do you suppose he plays the Christian card so much and so well, and why they support him - no matter what he does? Why so many allusions to or comparing him to Christ or savior, etc.?

Joe's current mental/physical state must surely be a polite signal from the Almighty hinting he should give it a break but seeing Joe doesn't want to accept the realities of life, the Good Lord might send him a different message.

Theres the story about the guy and his house by a river.
One day a tramper comes past his house and says, there a big flood coming. Might pay to head out of here. Guy says no thanks, the lord will protect me.
The rains increase and a little later a man on a horse stops by and says, Ill give you a ride out as there is a big flood coming. The guy tells him its Ok as the lord will protect him.
The waters start to rise and soon his house is cut off. A helicopter land and tells him to jump in and they will fly him to safety. No thanks he says, I have faith in the lord.
The floods rise and rise and the guy drowns.

He gets to heaven and says, Lord why did you not protect me?

God tells him, I sent you a tramper, a horse and a helicopter.

People who tell you god works in mysterious ways, but then want a direct line when it suits them.

Of course he watched the debate. It took him a few days to get over what he saw, but he's back with his make-believe commentary. If the Democrats are this obtuse, they are truly screwed. If Joe runs, Trump will win. If Kamala runs in his place, Trump will win. The Democrats
have pretended everything was going great for three and a half years. It hasn't been going great, and they have probably left it too late. Bill.

The only job Biden has ever had his entire adult life is politician. While he was busy feeding at the public trough, Trump was busy grifting, bankrupting businesses, and screwing around on his wives. What a pathetic choice. 2020 thumbdown

"No puppet, no puppet!": Trump record of debate train wrecks exposes his boastful bluffing

Alex Wagner looks back at Donald Trump's past debate performances in which his panicky self-consciousness kept him belligerent and defensive, and considers whether President Joe Biden is better off engaging Trump or remaining focused on his own record and agenda.

The best parts IMO start at about 4:20 and 5:25 and especially at 5:55
