I have talked and e-mailed a number of men and women serving now. all are excited to give Hegseth a chance. They are tired of the same old men run by old ways.
If Jeffi claims he's no good, he has a very good chance of success. Just look at his prediction rate. You said he would never get confirmed jeffi.
Oh, the FBI deep dive found " nothing remarkable" in any and all accusations.
If he cant do the job, replace him.

I'm sure that all the women serving our country are delighted that a drunken misogynist with a history of sexual assault and who is on record saying that females should not serve in combat roles is our new defense secretary. I mean, what woman would not be excited for a boss like that?

First you declare you don’t believe in God’s Will on earth and now you reveal you don’t believe in Jesus’s teachings of forgiveness.

There are no perfect people (Albeit Joshua believes he is — except for spelling and grammar Big Grin) . If he made (which I don’t know if T or F) mistakes in his past I forgive — I have made mistakes as well.

You should brush up on your reading skills Tony. Read what I wrote again. I am not speaking for all of them, rather pointing out that some of them may find Hegseth less than appealing for the reasons stated above.

Have you read Sec. Hegseph’s books? They are enlightening and really talk more about relaxing physical standards necessary for women to qualify for combat.

In Gen. Millie’s woke military, the physical standards for combat are met by women and are touted as equal. This was accomplished by lowering men’s standards to that which most all women could perform. So, the woke agenda didn’t just lower the women’s requirements (from assuring combat readiness equally in both sexes), it made women’s performance the common denominator and thereby the U.S. military less lethal, i.e. men have to perform only like physically weaker women instead of women having to perform as physically stronger men can. The intentionally false claim that women can perform as well as men doesn’t tell the whole truth… and that’s men’s physical criteria has been modified downward to allow women to qualify thereby reducing what’s required for all.

As an aside and as a former carrier-qualified fighter pilot myself, I don’t see any overwhelming reason that a woman couldn’t fly tactical aircraft (Lt Karin Hultgreen understood as too much, too fast for P.C. Reasons).

My first language is sarcasm Tony, you take me too literally at times. I prefaced "all of the women" with I'm sure, that was tongue in cheek and an attempt to point out that everyone may not be in agreement on the matter.

I am not speaking any of them, just pointing out that some may not be thrilled with his history or his views on their prospects for career advancement in the Armed Forces.

Pete Hegseth, Trump's embattled pick for defense secretary, wins Senate confirmation
January 24, 20259:52 PM ET

(excerpt)

Talking to reporters in California after the vote, Trump said Hegseth would make a great defense secretary. He said he didn't know McConnell voted no, but added: "Winning is all that matters."

If four Republicans had voted with Senate Democrats to oppose Hegseth it would have sunk the nomination.

Among the allegations: Hegseth was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Republican conference in 2017 and ended up signing a nondisclosure agreement and paying a financial settlement. In addition, a former sister-in-law accused him of "abusive" behavior toward his second wife, who denied any physical abuse. And Hegseth was in charge of two veterans' nonprofit groups where more money was spent than was taken in. Hegseth has called any allegations against him false, the result of disgruntled employees or part of media smear campaigns against him.

The 44-year-old Hegseth, a Army National Guard combat veteran and a former Fox News host, has no experience running a large organization, and during his confirmation hearing he addressed that, saying he had a different background. He referred to the "dust on his boots" from his combat deployments to Iraq and vowing to be a "change agent" and "disruptor," at the Pentagon.

1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it".

In the end, Hegseth will either improve the lethality of the military, or he won't.

Whether he gets bogged down by the built in bureaucracy or not is also a factor.

Frankly, as we have civilian control of the military, I think folks make too much of the "qualifications" of the secdef. He's supposed to be the guy who passes to the military the desires of the political leader (president).

I fully trust that if Hegseth is not doing his job, he will be removed.

I have to admit that after watching some basic training videos lately, the women DI's don't seem to be in anything like the physical shape of the males, and whats more, the men were no where near as impressive as the sergeants I remember from my ROTC days... when they described us as a bunch of fat "gentlemen" we looked at them and could tell they could do twice what they were making us do.

i have seen it for decades, in several countries and languages -- that "mentality" has never changed ... i guess it's just human nature to try and compel someone to do your wants - especially when there isn't an authority relationship --
