She didn't not pick Pete because she thought/actually knew that he was gay, but rather how the electorate would see it so the safe pick was a straight person. trump on the other hand didn't need those "guys" in order to win. Had he picked a gay guy for a running mate he'd likely have lost. But then you knew that or should have. I don't think that the eletorate on either side is that tolerant YET.

Actually, the point of the statement is that she knows you and a significant part of the electorate are homophobes. Mayor Pete is a good guy. Talks sense on just about everything.

Big news. The voters are mostly homophobes.

we might add more the MAGA ones but not only ... now we have some followers of the cult of the supreme leader trying to dissociate ... seems their supreme leader went too far or not yet ...

Understanding that you do not know the hearts of either Harris or Trump, if you had to venture a guess, which of the two would you predict is more likely to be a racist and/or homophobe? It’s almost a rhetorical question Steve but maybe you’ll answer . . . probably with a dodge or punt.

Just completely off the cuff I guess, but i think I'd vote for a gay person, but it'd have to be a normal, average, honorable and qualified person that incidentally happens to be gay.

If a candidate is well suited to be seated in office and I think will succeed why not vote for them? If the person is a candidate because they're gay and intends to make their gay, general gayness, the gay agenda, gay opportunities and gay privileges their priority i guess ill vote other.

As would I, as long as it wasn't an agenda they pushed. I have had several gay employees, never cared. Do the job you were hired for, period.

Neither do you...

Imagine going to court and trying to convince a judge or a jury on what someone thinks, rather than the actual evidence of their hirings or the words the put down in a book.

I'll stick with their respective records on the matter.

But thats just me.

Thanks for the correction.

A plurality of voters are likely homophobes because they elected a homophobe.

. . . I figured you would punt. But I figure you know who in your heart would most likely fit the bill. C- for the deflection. D- for creating a post suggesting someone you undoubtedly understand is less likely than Trump to be a racist and homophobe is a racist and homophobe. Disingenuous is the term that comes to mind.

I expect trump is very tolerant of gays and other races, as long as they support him.

I tend to agree with this except it's not tolerance....trump's only concern is how a person or event might benefit him. I doubt it would even occur to him to think about sexual orientation because he just doesn't give a shit about other people except to the extent that are somehow beneficial to him.
