A major mainstream news outlet in NZ published an article by their political editor on the issue of pay equity, as there is a bill before parliament on the issue right now. In it the female, very left leaning and feminist author of the article, Andrea Vance, Used a number of highly misogynistic epithets. Including the C word, to describe the female govt ministers responsible for the legislation. The opposition left party then quoted excerpts of such in Parliament. So far not a single media outlet has picked up on the appalling nature of the comments and taken anyone responsible to task. Yet if a right wing politician were to use any language even approaching such, it would be all over media for weeks and the PM would be forced to make a statement. Comentary form a blog on the issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSkrO3hWWr8 The politician on the receiving end of the attacks, Addressed the issue in Parliament, and used the word during the address, and well Ill post a link too the current google search in which every major news org now wants to make an issue about it. https://www.google.com/search?...en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

There is an interesting story aggregator called Ground News. They show what issues are being reported and by whom, left, right or centre. Interesting site, but subscription.

Yeah I just find it amazing that the left, the champions of equality and women's rights, can turn to such base misogyny at will, and with such ease. And that not does not raise the righteousness of the main stream media.
