Bringing up a new generation of Republicans. barf Losers.

NEW YORK — Leaders of Young Republican groups throughout the country worried what would happen if their Telegram chat ever got leaked, but they kept typing anyway.

They referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people” and mused about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide and lauded Republicans who they believed support slavery.

William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words “n--ga” and “n--guh,” variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, referred to rape as “epic.” Peter Giunta, who at the time was chair of the same organization, wrote in a message sent in June that “everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.”

Sickening that this is what the Republican Party has become. These people are embedded in the current Trump administration and in the staff of important GOP congressmen. Trump and the rest of the GOP have the moral responsibility to root this trash out. I'm not optimistic that they will. These people are loyal MAGA misfits. Why would MAGA have any incentive to get rid of them?

leaked texts of young republican officials:

Recent news reports by Politico have detailed leaked private Telegram messages from leaders within the Young Republican National Federation (YR), revealing extensive instances of racist, antisemitic, and violent rhetoric. The messages, spanning over seven months, involve officials from state chapters including New York, Kansas, Arizona, and Vermont.

Specific content and rhetoric:

According to Politico's reporting, which reviewed 2,900 pages of the private chats, the messages contained:

Antisemitic remarks: Members used Nazi references, praised Adolf Hitler, and joked about gas chambers. One New York YR official wrote, “Can we fix the showers? Gas chambers don't fit the Hitler aesthetic”.

Racist statements: In discussions about an NBA game, one member said, “I'd go to the zoo if I wanted to watch monkey play ball”. Other messages featured racial slurs, including repeated use of the N-word, and referred to Black people as "the watermelon people".

Misogynistic and violent comments: Members joked about rape, with one referring to it as “epic”. Threats of political violence, including torturing opponents, were also present.

Reaction and consequences:

The leaks have prompted widespread condemnation and led to severe repercussions for those involved.

Condemnation: The Young Republican National Federation's board of directors released a statement calling the language "vile and inexcusable" and demanded immediate resignations from those involved.

Firings and resignations: Several individuals named in the report were removed from their positions.

Peter Giunta, former New York State YR chair, was separated from his job with a New York assemblymember.

Joseph Maligno, the group's former general counsel, is no longer employed by the New York State Unified Court System.

William Hendrix, a Kansas YR official, was fired from his position at the Kansas Attorney General's office. The Kansas YR chapter has since been shut down.

Political fallout: The leaks triggered a political firestorm. While many Republicans, including Representative Elise Stefanik, condemned the comments, Vice President JD Vance downplayed them. Vance instead sought to draw attention to past leaked texts from a Virginia Democratic candidate, characterizing them as "far worse".

Apologies and defenses: Some involved, like Giunta, issued apologies but also claimed the messages may have been taken out of context and were released as part of an internal power struggle within the organization.

I was in Young Republicans. Before anyone starts the locker room excuse, No.

First, our faculty sponsor was a great human being . This behavior would not have been tolerated. One would not wish to be in Young Republicans with him as sponsor and behave like this.

Second, as young college adults representing Republicanism, Conservatism we were aware of our responsibility in the face of allegations of racism. This coupled with the small, rural college I went to made us all aware of the responsibility to present Republicanism, Conservatism. We took it upon ourselves to be better, and demonstrate such beliefs were not Republican politics nor personal beliefs.

All this does is show how far the false conservative movement has poisoned Republicanism, Conservatism.

Makes me sad.

Notice anything? Not a single resident MAGAt here will condemn the chat or the folks participating in the chat. Telling isn't it.

If you need to have condemnation, you have it.

But Mike (Jines), while you may be implying your condemnation by saying others are not, note that you did not condemn it yourself.

Frankly, the comments are indefensible.
