The fact there are those who are not personally supportive or have concerns of the Regime’s use of forces would not fit your narrative.

I am sure that there are individuals who disagree with his policies.

I am also sure that resistance is pretty limited... as it is pretty limited under the USCMJ as to what you can do.

If Trump makes an illegal order, I do expect the soldiers involved to refuse it.

However, the troops don't get to debate whether an order is appropriate or they like the policy.

As an example, the troops involved don't get to decide if a call up is legal. They received an order through the chain of command to report, and they must even if they think Trump's calling them up for protecting federal buildings is an overreach.

The highlighted part above seems a bit self-contradictory.

Anyway, that's why there are restrictions on the Exec power to deploy troops domestically against citizens.
