Why it would have been different under President Trump.

Yes, it’s X Roland…from the former Speaker of the House.

Trump negotiated that ridiculous withdrawal.
President Biden to his shame executed it.

It has nothing to do with these two presidential candidates today.

But for, one of them negotiated with the Taliban giving them everything they wanted. That one candidate is Trump.

Great policy example by Trump is it not? We both no the true and honest answer is no.

I'll take that as an unverifiable but likely story. It's still a stretch to think that the Afghan army would continue to hold off the Taliban when they would be taking over their government, weapons, and paychecks in only months.

Hmmm...did he give Joe Biden the picture and the GPS coordinates?

Trump earned a gargantuan F in Afghanistan just like every other president that Commander's in Chief there.

Theres no negotiating with those Cave Dwellers, there's no agreement to be made, no treaty to be signed.

As Israel is doing in Gaza with Hamas, we should have rooted out and destroyed the Taliban and left the cleanup to others.

As Saeed says, the mind boggles that we can consider the obvious failures of our own actions, see the obvious successes of Israel and still come to our same old failed conclusions.

I am not ashamed to mention his name. One of the best Speakers the House has ever seen. He gave us a great economy under Clinton.

I voted for him in the 2012 primary. Actually, he is one of the few politicians I really follow.

What would Trump have done differently that would have changed the result?

Something that doesn't rely on hindsight, I mean.

His willingness to use technological force against the Taliban leaders if they didn’t toe the line could have allowed the seeds we planted to grow. But, we will never know.

Trump made the deal for the Taliban to take over. They agreed to conduct negotiations with the existing Afghan government, and they did so. The deal didn't obligate the Taliban to compromise on or agree to anything.

The Taliban adhered to the terrible deal Trump made. After that, their takeover was inevitable.

In my experience of negotiating business deals and seeing them executed…

…a deal (especially a deal with not so amicable parties) only transacts as well as its craftsmen enforce their vision of the deal on the outcome.

All prisoners were to be released by the Taliban.
They broke that very important agreement. No way we should have left without them.

Trump said he was going to release his health care plan too, in four years he never seemed to manage to get that done.
