All these new illegal children.....that's lots of new students....whose parents don't pay taxes....

A lot of new students that don't speak English......so now new York is gonna get to pay for a bunch of bilingual teachers and English as a second language programs.....

Its very virtuous being a sanctuary state, right until you have to pay for it??

Welcome to what the feds have been forcing on us border states!

Libs love the idea of immigration legal or otherwise. Right up until it affects their lives. I have a neighbor and long time family friend who leans left and supports immigration and all the hot button issues associated with it. I asked her where she prefer they build housing, beside her house or across the street? She answered neither as the cold realization that she was a hypocrite at best and a liar at worst was written plainly on her facial expression. Bussing illegal aliens north is the only way to get thru to dim Libs.

It isn’t only the libs.

Plenty of conservatives like the cheap labor.

Like having a pool guy who does it for a tenth the cost… because he isn’t paying taxes and it’s a cash business, and he’s worried about customer service because if his customers get mad, they can drop a dime on him and deport him.

Frankly, I don’t think there are many jobs I wouldn’t do… I just won’t do them for what folks want to pay me to do it.

Crops all over Texas and FL rotting in the fields so Abbott and Desanctimonius can score political points.....

What's the cost of lost labor?

Of course this whole thread is an attempt by JTEX to divert from Trump's coup charges which he said would NEVER happen.

Sucks to be him....

Not much to add.

Dr. Butter said what I would say. It is not a Left problem as I have said repeatedly the GOP does not regardless of the political lies they say want to address the matter.

I would add that undocumented workers actually pay taxes:

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/0...taxes-cec/index.html

https://itep.org/undocumented-...-contributions-2017/

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-ut...20and%20Taxation.pdf

https://bipartisanpolicy.org/b...-taxes-an-explainer/

They are actually net contributors:

https://www.reuters.com/articl...dUSL2N0E41GZ20130529

So, your tax drain argument does not carry water.

I have come full circle on the plan to bus illegal immigrants to other cities. I initially viewed it as a stunt. Now I think it was a brilliant move. It has raised the level of focus about illegal immigration and made it a national issue. Other states that were previously “immune” to the problem, are now getting to experience the problem first hand. And guess what? They don’t like it either. Not a fan of Abbott but I’ll give him credit for getting this one right.

Same.

I was utterly shocked to hear the Mayor of New York City Eric Adams pleading with the Biden administration to tackle the crisis on BOTH borders now.

I wasn't shocked in the slightest.

If any of the so called sanctuaries would have meant what they said they would have started the bussing and transporting of the migrants themselves.
New York, California and Martha's Vineyard should have been going to fetch the migrants from the beginning of their rhetoric was genuine.

There's no difference between claiming to be a "Sanctuary" and banging the? Ukrainian war drum; in both cases the goal is to be seen by yourself and others as a real involved humanitarian without actually lifting a finger or giving a damn. Roll Eyes

I've been watching the NEWs and wonder how all those BLACK people got to Mexico to cross into the USA.

Mayor Adams claims to want all these ILLEGAL ALIENS (Yes that is what they are) but now he wants funds from New York State and the federal government.

Living in New York (NOT NYC) why should I pay for this Assholes stupidity!

I idly wonder how much produce goes out the back doors of Texas grocers, and ends up in the landfills every, single, day...

The need or desire for cheap labor in no way excuses or justifies ignoring illegal immigration and the enforcement of our borders.

I'm completely disgusted.
Half a million homeless Americans and 59 million drug abusing Americans in the USA but somehow we can look to Ukraine and Latin American immigrants to vent our charity.

The destruction of America is here and now.

Never cease to be amazed by the anti-immigrant rhetoric from the guy who makes his living in the Texas construction industry. 90% of the folks working on the jobsites you make your living off of are undocumented workers.

You should protest by telling your GC that your company won't work on those jobsites anymore instead of your quacking on here.

Hypocrite shitbird.

I used to work for a guy that raised hogs and he would make the rounds to all the local Wendy's restaurants to collect all the backed potatoes that were left over at the end of every day. Them hogs ate good.

Years ago I knew a Journeyman Electrician who would get expired produce for free from several Tucson grocers to slop his hogs as well.
Then some bureaucrats outlawed that practice.
So what a couple of the friendlier and common sense grocers did was worked around that by giving the guy a huge "Discount" on
"Bruised" produce.
I think it worked out to something like $5 for a light duty truck-full.

Yes, you wouldn’t believe the number of baked potatoes that Wendy’s was throwing out. All of them individually wrapped in foil too. We would unwrap them and chuck them into the hog pen. Pigs love potatoes.
