NYT & Bloomberg Bury Rutgers Study Showing DEI Makes People Hostile

by Tyler Durden
Wednesday, Nov 27, 2024 - 04:55 AM

Corporate media outlets have buried, downplayed, or otherwise shelved a new study which reveals that "diversity, equity, and inclusion" (DEI) policies cause people to become 'hostile' - essentially seeing racism where none exists.

The new study from the Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) and Rutgers University found that people exposed to DEI talking points about race, religion and gender form integroup hostility and authoritarian attitudes towards others.

"What we did was we took a lot of these ideas that were found to still be very prominent in a lot of these DEI lectures and interventions and training," said NCRI Chief Science Officer Joel Finkelstein, a co-author of the study. "And we said, ‘Well, how is this going to affect people?’ What we found is that when people are exposed to this ideology, what happens is they become hostile without any indication that anything racist has happened....

It seemed like every cabinet pick 0biden chose lead with what weird trait the person chosen had rather than their work history or education. Many were nothing more than flagrant ninnies.

With trump's picks the media has to dig for the personal feel good facts but often avoid them because they don't want anyone to like the people chosen. A good example is roland not liking Scott Bessent. Just not gay enough for him because he doesn't dress goofy.

Heck, what's the point of a study?

We all know that DEI along with WOKE draws hate and hostility from Rightists.

But, DEI didn't "make" the hostility in Rightists. It was already there, lurking, smoldering.

The more correct thing to say is: DEI is illogical. Why would anyone even pretend it is OK much less a workable idea.

Totally illogical!

So the OP thinks it's great that some people become hostile at the idea of diversity, equity, and inclusion? Why am I not surprised that she applauds a primitive, tribal response?

I can't see anything to celebrate about likeness, inequity, and exclusion.

What a hoot!

It’s the woke folks in whom DEI, etc., festers “hate and hostility”. In the Right, the emotion is mainly pity towards the TDS crowd.

It’s an awakening to watch a bit of Australian Sky News and see Lefties Losing It.

Roland, Its not hostility. Its the fact that the right doesn't want ANY lifestyle choice being forced into our lives for approval.

This is the phrase that started all of this- "We just want to be able to be married like everyone else." Camels nose, meet tent.

Now we have to accept kids having "gender reassignment" surgeries, without parental consent.

The article didn’t say DEI makes racists mad… the study said when you expose people to DEI lectures they start seeing racism and other “-isms” in places where it doesn’t exist.

There is racism. Unfortunately, the new push for equity is making non racist attitudes being called racism.

The idea that we can correct past wrongs by reversing discrimination to a different group isn’t going to work.

Giving past oppressed people advantages just causes new oppression. Is it going to improve society? I doubt it.

How is giving reparations going to fix anything, as an example?

How often does that really happen? Gender reassignment of a kid without parental consent? Can you name three such cases?

When you say, "know their place." if you mean right along side all the rest of us, I agree.

I've mostly lost interest in folks having special problems and special needs.

I like the idea of uniforms in school and in the workplace. We can all wear pants as far as I'm concerned. The job or school can supply 10 sets of,......... and you can do laundry every other week. The wardrobe that makes you feel good you can supply for yourself and wear for yourself in your off hours.

Those of diverse ethnicity, religion and sexual identity/ preference can sit in neighboring bathroom stalls and go #2 right next to me. Bleach Blondes, Hells Angels, Farm Boys School Marms and Non Binary can smell and listen to some of me a sheet metal divider away, pants down around my boots.

English is the official language of the United States. If you can't read it, write it and speak it fluently that's on you, the majority of us can. I'll wave my hands higher and add as many Spanish vowels to my words as I can think of, but I'm guessing that'll make things worse.

If you have a sensitivity to light, dark, heat, cold, a tone of voice, particular words, (in English,) my work or school apparel, (uniform,) a smell, (bathroom or otherwise,) a particular taste, or feeling, feel free to protect your frailties from the comfort of your own home.

I just can't actually help why you think or why you actually were excluded and I can't support giving you equity at the expense of me or my kid. Diversity is a ham sandwich at lunch instead of turkey or hot coffee to drink on a hot summer day instead of ice water.

Stand along side us and get to work or get left behind.

Scott, as you know, I like you, Buddy. It's good to know where to go for advice on how to navigate and behave in a regime like Trumpism.

Because all you do is attack me. If I post an article there is a cadre composed of you and several others who do this. So, just returning the favor. Also, you have never defended so that just makes you a liar. So as long as you go out of your way to be nasty then I will as well.

Little girls with sickle cell are not behavior problems. You proved your character by not looking at the link and just spouting off to make a nasty comment because I posted an article. Now, I don't care if you don't like me and the articles I choose to post but if you keep obsessing over things I post just to be nasty then I decided I should treat you the same way you have treated me.

Again, showing your true character which is clearly horrible. Even on this topic your words are not remotely close to anything I said on the first post. If you don't like my sarcasm or the desire to show the hypocrisy in politics you can choose to scroll past anything I post but you have not. You make a nasty comment every time. Seems like I live in your head. What a sickness. Get over it!
