The degree to which our national media seem to actively cheer against the president of the United States in a summit with a foreign power is astounding.

There is nearly no precedent for it apart from Trump’s first term. It is hopeless Trump Derangement Syndrome and an indictment of how broken, corrupt, and literally the enemy of the American people the majority of the national media complex is.

And obviously related, the degree to which our national media seem to actively cheer for more war, death, and destruction is another sign of dangerously sick people who should not be in positions of real power.

Reagan is spinning alright…for exactly the reasons bolded above.

Putin wreaks havoc under 0bama and Biden. Congress can’t wait to throw money (gasoline) into the war (fire)…to get their industrial military complex kick-backs and donations…and the useful idiots cheer it on.

The fact-of-the-matter is that Trump has not done one thing to help Putin. Meanwhile China and Russia bonds strengthen and even India is enticed join.

My, my. You are entitled to your own opinion Lane, but facts are facts. It is Trump that is suggesting Ukraine concede to Russia and it is Trump's policies that are pushing India closer to Russia and China. Trump still does not understand who our allies are and who the enemy is....facts. The money spent in Ukraine has been pennies compared to what the BBB added to the deficit.

Russia is the enemy....just like Reagan told us.

BTW WTF was he doing talking to Putin about our voting system, specifically mail in voting? What does that have to do with the war in Ukraine?

Because Putin tells him he won in 2020 to stroke him. Putin plays him like fiddle.

That's why trump is carrying Putin's water today in his meeting with Zelensky.

I'm sorta mixed about wanting him to fail. For one IMO he isn't operting in the best interest/s of Ukraine. If we value their resources we should be behind them 100%.

It was incredibly STUPID of him to brag about being able to end that war in 24 hours. Just a ruse to get votes. Really stupid if you voted for him because of that. Almost as stupid as voting for him because of 34 convictions just to spite the justice system.

While I agree we should hope that Trump could come up with an equitable solution to end the war, his public statements make one wonder about what he is offering.

If he is serving as just a middle man between the two sides, that’s not all bad.

If he’s trying to end the war by having the aggrieved party capitulate, that’s somewhat antithetical to our country’s long term policy.

While I think Zelensky has plenty of warts, he’s an Abraham Lincoln compared with his counterpart.

Whatever Trump offered Putin, it will come out eventually. We can judge Trump’s efforts by the results. If it’s wholesale giving up land by Ukraine, somehow I doubt the Ukrainians will agree with that.

Traditionally, one of the European allies was the go between in US/NATO vs Russia/USSR/Warsaw Pact negotiations. This time its us.

He cannot serve as a middle man.

He is actively involved in supporting one side!

The incredible lengths the West went to to antagonize Russia is beyond belief!

Imagine if the same is done to America each time it invades other countries!

You are constantly regurgitating the text of a 108 year old letter from the UK government expressing nebulous support for a possible Jewish state ... but you are blind to a 30something year old agreement guaranteeing the security of Ukraine by Russia ... its still the wests fault.
Did the west force Vlad to invade Crimea?
Did the west force Vlad to arm, train and finance separatists in the east of Ukraine?
Did rather west force Vlad to invade three years ago?
Is the west forcing Vlad to take Ukrainian kids from their homes and relocating them to Russian families?

What's incredible is for any intelligent person to say such a thing.

But I'll bite: what are the West's dastardly deeds against Russia?

It's dumb not to see what Russia is after: territory and resources. Otherwise, why would Putin be demanding territory to settle the war?

Get past the Russian propaganda and think for yourself, Saeed.

When the Warsaw Pact was disbanded, NATO should have been disbanded too.

Instead, the West kept inviting countries surrounding Russia to join NATO!

Did you think Russia would stand for that?

Why should Russia care--other than to offer a pretext--what NATO does? Just because the Warsaw Pact falls apart, why should NATO do the same?

NATO has never attacked or invaded anyone, let alone Russia.

NATO did assist the US in Afghanistan because the US was attacked on 9/11. But NATO members would not assist the US (rightly, imho) when Bush invaded Iraq.

What business is it of Russia’s what other countries decide to do ? Ukraine can apply for membership of NATO or the EU if it wants, it’s none of Russias business.

If Russia is so concerned about its neighbours joining NATO it’s their own actions which have caused Sweden and Finland to join. Prior to Russias invasion both were in favour of remaining neutral.

Just because the Warsaw pact has gone it doesn’t mean Russia now has a sudden respect for other countries security. Russian agents were perfectly happy to spray nerve agents around in the UK in an attempt to kill off someone they didn’t like.

And how many miles of border did Russia share with NATO in 2021? And today? If Russia's goal is to keep NATO from its border, they are failing miserably.
