Yesterday I thought of something in a different way.

Hopefully I can explain.

Supposedly those who voted for Trump in big part were drawn to strength, manliness, the fix it man. They worried about such things as the wrong direction, American Carnage, culture war, etc.

They considered their vote as a show of strength, solidarity. And they were vindicated when he barely won. He'll show those damn liberals. Just like in 2016, they figured it should have been a landslide.

The utter irony of it is that Trump is not a product of strength but instead he's all about weakness, and exploiting weakness.

Those who still support him fail to recognize that they are coming from a status of weakness. They are vulnerable to lies, propaganda, spin, fear mongering and other forms of manipulations by a con artist, a fraudster, a convicted felon, a demagogue.

Trump can't use the tools of character that real men have in their toolbox. That's because he has none.

Yet, the populace fell for it, and cling to it, as a source of strength. There is no inner peace there.

Pitiful.

And the irony of him calling on Powell to reduce interest rates is . . . drumroll please . . . that the higher rates we are seeing is a direct result of his tariffs and trade policies. He has so spooked the bond market that no one is buying long term treasuries. The buyers in the market do not find investing is US Treasuries to be "safe" any more. But we have to sell the treasuries to pay bills, so when demand goes down, interest rates go up to generate more demand. So he is cause of the higher interest rates that he wants Powell to fix. Pity his loyal sycophants cannot appreciate that he is the one killing the economy.

Well, the Dow is down another 1240 points and the day is far from done. That’s a lot of winning for one session.
