It is not unconstitutional.

It is what he should have done on Jan 6.

DC Guard is the only National Guard w direct police power.

He is not deploying a state Guard to DC. He is mobilizing the DC Guard.

We all know that factually the DC NG WAS authorized ahead of time to be able to deploy at the request of the Capitol Police and/or Pelosi — as the Speaker is the executive over the Capitol’s security. She declined.

I spent 2 weeks in DC in July. Walked around at night some. I was never over a mile or 2 away from the White in perimeter however. Talking to my local driver while I was there…he said the area I was in had been very safe for a while but it deteriorated rapidly in increasing diameter from my perimeter.

All that said…things in the news seemed to pick up drastically after my stay. Don’t know if needed or not. Many lawmakers are advocating for it.

To be clear, the SotH is not DIRECTLY the executive in charge of security - she does appoint one of them, though

quote:
No, the Speaker of the House is not in charge of Capitol security. Responsibility for security lies with the Capitol Police Board, which oversees the U.S. Capitol Police and approves requests for National Guard assistance.
The Board consists of the House and Senate Sergeants at Arms, the Architect of the Capitol, and the Chief of the Capitol Police.
While the Speaker appoints the House Sergeant at Arms and has some influence in the selection of the Architect of the Capitol, they do not oversee the day-to-day operations of the Capitol Police or the Board itself.
Multiple fact-checking organizations have confirmed that claims attributing sole responsibility for Capitol security to the Speaker, including Nancy Pelosi, are false

The Capitol Police and Board were also listed as being able to request by the authorization order and also declined as I understand. Pelosi on record of recommending decline.

Trump did not act because he wanted to use the violence to keep the election from being certified.

End of the story.

Remember what he told GOP Leader McCarthy when he called Trump to do something, “ Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”

Nothing, not even Dr. Easter’s boot licking can change what Jan 6 was, and Trump’s role in Jan 6.

The rioters were trying to overthrow the election, Lane would rather believe the Fox news liars than what he saw with his own eyes.

The Fuhrer will try to take over city after city to impose his will.

Is Trump wrong to clean up D.C.? I wonder.
I live on the opposite side of the earth so what do I know?

When a little boy in the 70s, my parents took me to D.C. on vacation. We toured the Whitehouse and Capitol, Arlington, The Smithsonian, The Washington Monument, Jefferson and Lincoln. It was all clean, safe and riveting. No crime, no fear or danger, no trash, no homeless, just an elementary view of the foundation of our way of life. I could stare for hours at the Lincoln Monument. The Washington Monument was under remodel and it bugged me. Congressman Pete Stark gave us calenders.

Would I feel comfortable doing the same with my little girl as of yesterday? I doubt it.

The DC NG was pre-authorized. The failure was at the level of executive control of security at the Capitol. They had access to the best intelligence. The NG takes time to deploy. You don’t flip a switch and they appear. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. The NG should have been requested on Jan 5 by Capitol Police. Pelosi asked that they not. By the time that the riot got out of control…deployment was not going to help with anything other than clean up.

Jerry,
I have ALWAYS called the few hundred who stormed the Capitol rioters. There were 6000 (vast majority) on the Mall peacefully protesting.

Vance is here on vacation here at the moment, in the middle of the countryside not too far from me. Totally safe to do or go where you want, no homeless tent cities, yet he still has a 30 car motorcade to go anywhere causing chaos and all the roads nearby are closed.

As far as I'm concerned he can have the same protection as given to prince W or Charlie, who don't need a massive motorcade and bring the place too a halt, if he's not happy with that he can stay in the US.

Even if DC was squeaky clean and with no homeless folks he would still want his ridiculous "Im so important" army of cars to follow him round the place and gum up the traffic.

Talk about f@cking dumb. I mean you should think God you don’t have to remember to breathe…

…the NG was authorized to go at the request of Capitol Police by Trump.

Now as the event unfolded he could have forced the NG to deploy. They would have arrived in time to clean up the mess.

He did what was needed…you are just too damn dumb to see it.

The help was declined. In real-time there was not enough time for them to deploy after the fact to make a difference.

God damn you’re stupid.

In some places they use; Fuck, you're dumb!

If you drive down I-35…just before you cross the Red River…stop by and I will show you one of those places. Wink

I live about a mile from I-35, but I won't be taking it THAT far down.

Give me a home where the buffalo roam and I'll show you a house full of buffalo shit.

Here we see in full force what authority Trump has over the DC Guard. On, and Trump has mobilized the DC Guard before. There is no secret is.

Trump calls out the NG for a nebulous reason but he obviously couldn’t call them out for a full blown riot. Yea, that makes sense. Come on, Lane, explain that dichotomy. Confused

He had plenty of time to do it. An Epstein deflection/diversion is the perfect opportunity.

Talk about f@cking dumb. I mean you should think God you don’t have to remember to breathe…

…the NG was authorized to go at the request of Capitol Police by Trump.

Now as the event unfolded he could have forced the NG to deploy. They would have arrived in time to clean up the mess.

They should have been accepted the days before.

I was referring to the very recent siccing of the NG on DC and not to J6. I thought the line "trump calls out the NG for a nebulous reason" might have tipped you off, but I guess it flew right over your head.
