I doubt that Maxwell's testimony or pardon will make this go away for Trump. I think the damage is done because the Epstein fiasco is a dose of reality that the True Believers can't get past. A successful appeal resulting in her release, a NDA written by the devil, and a brief discussion regarding the application and effects of Novichok….. I’m pretty sure she could be counted on to provide very favourable testimony. Considering the ethics of people like Trumps inner circle, I wouldn’t put anything past them. | |||

Oh, there is a lot. Let us assume the Court identifies a reversible error. Unless, the statutory scheme used to prosecute her is held unconstitutional, the case still gets remanded for a new trial at the election of Fed Prosecutors. Now, if evidence is suppressed as a due process violation, prosecutors have to decide do we still have enough evidence that was not suppressed to get a conviction? If the answer is no, she is free, innocent, and not prosecuted again. If the prosecution says, “We still got enough.” The process starts over. Just bc the appellate courts void a sentence does not mean a case is over. | |||

Does anybody seriously think that the trump DOJ is going to retry Ghislaine if her conviction is reversed? That would never happen. I suppose a Democratic administration, if elected in 2028, might pursue it but I doubt it. Once trump's term is up, the appetite to pursue it will disappear. | |||
