Some support a national sales tax allowing Musk to pay percentage wise nothing on his wealth.

Nope.

The only thing he ever invented is an ugly truck that can't get wet, everything else he bought from the geniuses who invented them, including Twitter that he paid $44 billion for and is now worth a quarter of that.

Much like Truth Social.

Thats very dismissive though. Starlink is awesome and will be the worlds choice of communication that allows even third world countries viable and economic access too everything internet that we in the first world have. Space X is innovatively reusing rocket parts and will be the first company to really visit Mars.
His work with solar panels and electricity is going to help the world.
He may not invent it himself, but he has the foresight to go there and or recognise great ideas when others dont.

Great accomplishment to eventually be the "first company to really visit Mars", a mere 50+ years after socialist NASA started doing so and left long coattails for Elmo to clutch. Starlink is merely a logical evolution from Iridium, kind of like paving a gravel road and proclaiming yourself a pioneer.

And why do none of Elmo's fanboys ever mention the 5 or 6 billion dollars worth of socialist government subsidies that bankrolled Tesla, or Obama's tax credits that made their cars affordable for people to buy?

when it comes to a generational visionary, like Musk, one must be less opinionated.

His apparent partisanship is due to him being pushed. He bought Twitter because he is a free speech advocate, free for both sides, not just one political position.

The harder he is pushed by the left, the harder he pushes back, all the way to standing beside DJT. Same for RFK, Same for Gabbard.

They are all now dismissed as kooks.

Musk has changed life for humanity. He will continue to do so. Has anyone watched the YouTube about his phone? Imaging global connection to satellites, NO MATTER on earth you are.

I fish the Amazon a bunch. ALL the little villages of indigenous tribes we fish with all have phones, just for pictures I guess. Even these folks would have access to global communication.

Starlink
SpaceX
Tesla

Musk is odd, but most visionaries are to a point. I'll look for the Piphone video.

I disagree that Musk is a visionary. Musk’s strength is in taking an existing idea and using his wealth to hire other people who can take the idea from concept to reality.

That's a skill but it's not genius nor is it visionary.

Like buying Twitter for $44 billion, tanking it to being worth maybe $12 billion by skewing to the Right after claiming it could only be worthwhile if it remained neutral and eliminated meaningful moderation to let the Klan and the Nazis run free.

Some "visionary"...

I don't see how removing moderation of "both" sides is skewing to the right?

Is banning Trump, yet allowing the Ayatollah's account to remain open, free speech?

And Twitter/X is now a cesspool of misinformation, falsehoods and lies. Which, I assume, is why you've adopted it as your go-to source of information.

By the way, Twitter/X's value is down 80% since your boy purchased it. Now, that's visionary. tu2

The Left faced much less "moderation" because they posted fewer calls for violence, fewer blatant lies and much less hate, so "removing moderation of both sides" just unleashed the Nazis and the Proud Boys.

Trump was banned for repeatedly posting provably false information after being warned, as anyone regardless of their politics should be. Freedom of Speech is not Freedom to Lie on a private platform.

Like much of the rest of the Constitution, you misunderstand the 1st Amendment; it merely prohibits Congress from restricting freedom of speech, it doesn't require private parties to extend a Freedom to Lie to you lunatics who know that merely relying on objective fact will make you a permanent minority, and in a very few years a minor one.

Jef is correct.

Again, I have previously given the cares multiple times.

Con law 101 where there is not government action there is no 14th Amendment due process analysis to be performed.

The S. Ct., has rules on this issue. The Biden Administration did not engage is violating 1st Amendment rights through social media.

It was not, as things go, a hard decision.

Free Speech does not require every person to have sway. It is called the market place if ideas. Folks are free to reject them or accept stupid. The acceptance of stupid is certainly why Trump is still around.

So, what Zuke says is not dispositive of the issue.

I posted the case bf. I would suggest reading it.

One can disagree. I certainly have before, but an educated critique would require a breakdown of facts that would require not applying the constitutional principles I set out above found in the record on appeal. Or a critique detailing how the application of the above constitutional principles were applied incorrectly.

I certainly do not support overturning and extend 14th Amendment Due Process analysis to non-public actors outside of the work place. That is what would have to happen for what is argued for here to be a constitutional violation.

Your employer can censor the work pls e so long as censorship is not in violation due to race, sex, gender, religion, or age. These being the application of federal law long held constitutional with sender identification being most recent.

Third graders have a lot of trouble distinguishing between a private action and a governmental one, so anybody telling them "Shut up you're lying" gets them screaming "First Amendment!" like their Orange Savior, who has as tenuous a grasp on the document and its applicability as they do.

Americans don’t want censorship in the public arena…even if legal from a private company standpoint. Elon gets this and his insight will pay off in the long run.

Elon Musk's Trump rally appearance just sealed his legacy
Story by Ayman Mohyeldin and Andrew Kenlon and Allison Detzel • 5h • 3 min read

(excerpt)

“As you can see, I’m not just MAGA. I’m dark MAGA,” Musk told the crowd. He then urged attendees to “fight,” and that Trump “must win to preserve the Constitution. He must win to preserve democracy in America.”

I’m not sure about “dark MAGA” — I much prefer comedian Mike Drucker’s interpretation: “dork MAGA.” But let’s take this moment in. What happened on that stage on Sunday in Butler will be the legacy of Elon Musk. The man once seen as a tech visionary, a real-life Tony Stark, will now be known as the man who traded in his reputation and his self-professed principles to become nothing more than a reactionary Lex Luthor in a MAGA hat.

Degenerate 1:1
1 Then Trump said, "Let Us re-make a Nation in MY Image, after My likeness, to rule over everything in the Nation, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it".

"When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." - Sinclair Lewis

Per my far-right friend: "reality sucks"

D.J. Trump aka Trumpism's Founding Farter, aka Farter Martyr. Qualifications: flatulence - mental, oral and anal.

I understand the law. And I understand being an American.

Americans don’t want censorship in the public arena…even if legal from a private company standpoint. Elon gets this and his insight will pay off in the long run.

If you want to speak of fascism…censorship is the tool. I’ll decide what to read/listen to for myself.

But no private service provider is obligated to give you a venue to lie.

And who is the arbiter of the truth? I’ll decide for myself and stand with Elon.

A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

He also almost certainly broke the law. He runs a Super-Pac, which is prohibited by law from coordinating with a campaign it supports.

Of course, Republicans aren't really expected to respect minor details like the Law...
