No it is very real but Pedo Joe trying to do something about it in an election year when he has done nothing in 3 years is the cheap political ploy. Maybe you should volunteer to house some of these new immigrants in your home. That would be incredibly magnanimous on your part. How about it? Put your money where your mouth is?

What was GOP excuse in 2026-2018. Oh, too busy.

We have a deal that can pass today to blunt the follow of fentanyl and migrants.

Bluefish says no to that deal is okay bc it is an election year.

Ride that brand right off a cliff.

I say no to that deal smart guy because it continues the fraudulent aid scheme to Ukraine where we have had practically zero ability to trace funds. So yeah you and your ilk can kiss my ass.

If it wasn't the money to bitch about, you would use tracing of weapons as an excuse.

After all, isn't the southern border and Ukraine funding two different things.

Why are they tied-up together in congress?

We are not sending funds, we were sending missiles and ammo and could trace them directly onto Russian targets.

Romney's take.....the last sane republican.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday took aim at former President Trump for pushing Republican lawmakers to oppose a border deal so that he could use the issue to campaign against President Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

Romney told CNN’s Manu Raju he thought it was “really appalling” that Trump would try to prevent progress on addressing the surge in migration at the southern border.

“I think the border is a very important issue for Donald Trump,” Romney said. “And the fact that he would communicate to Republican senators and congresspeople that he doesn’t want us to solve the border problem because he wants to blame Biden for it is really appalling.”

“But the reality is that we have a crisis at the border, the American people are suffering as a result of what’s happening at the border, and someone running for president ought to try to get the problem solved as opposed to saying, ‘Hey, save that problem. Don’t solve it. Let me take credit for solving it later,’” Romney continued.

Romney’s remarks come after weeks of negotiations on a potential legislative package that addresses border security and provides funding for Ukraine and other allies. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and his allies have warned that Republicans are unlikely to get a similar deal at any other moment, even if Trump wins reelection.

But Trump’s influence looms large over the party, especially among House conservatives, and the prospects for getting the deal through Congress with sufficient GOP support looks increasingly unlikely.

Last week, Trump made his position clear on social media, when he wrote, “I do not think we should do a Border Deal, at all, unless we get EVERYTHING needed to shut down the INVASION of Millions & Millions of people.”

McConnell on Wednesday floated the possibility of splitting the national security package, noting border security reforms now increasingly look unlikely to pass.

That's the point Jeffee.

The Reagan team cut a deal, BEFORE THEY HAD THE AUTHORITY, with the hostage holders. They undermined Carter.

It was a done deal, Carter's team worked hard at it, but then they (Reagan's team) worked a deal to intentionally postpone specifically for political advantage. In exchange for what?

It was similar with Flynn and Manafort cutting a deal with Russia, but of far more significance.

I know that it is still classified as a "Theory"
but there is plenty of evidence.

I choose to go beyond the notion that it's a conspiracy theory, primarily because of the timing, and because I'm as entitled to a good, solid conspiracy theory as any.

Dude, President Trump and his minions in the House have decreed the deal. President Trunp’s team called Sen McConnell to back away from the deal. Sen. McConnell is now talking about splitting the deal which will doom it, and everyone knows it.

President Trump and the Christian Nationalists, Freedom Caucus types have decried the deal, and its passage is in jeopardy.

What may have happened w Carter and Reagan has nothing to do with it.

The Speaker said he would not have a vote.

Never, never let it be said that the GOP, as a whole, consider or tried to work to address the border.

President Trumps is the nominee (to be crowned). He is the biggest swing rooster in the GOP henhouse.

I do not like it, and I know you do not. That changes nothing.

President Trump in NH, his worst state demographically, got 75 percent of the GOP vote. That is 75 percent. His path only gets easier.

When Sen. McConnell calls him the nominee. He is.

We created this. Some of us, I, made excuses for him. Some of us embraced him and parroted his lies. Now, within the GOP, those lies have become truth.

He and what he represents needed to be banished from the GOP. As I have argued with case law previously, President Trump in his ilk have no right to be nominated by the GOP. We let him and them off the hook.

We will now live w the consequences. Those consequences will be more Democrats elected which has happened. Or President Trump being re-elected. There is no comparison between President Biden being re-elected and President Trump being re-elected, along with GOPers like him, in terms of harm.

0biden does not need help from Trump on the border situation at all. Everyone with half a brain can see what's happening. It will take them to get tired of being taxed to pay for other people. Maybe they will realize, someday, their paycheck should pay for their own expenses?

Similarly, paying for other people to have a so-called college education isn't much better than paying the expenses of millions of illegals either.

Oh, or funding foreign countries to have THEIR border protected by our military might. Oops!

Now, they want to kill the new piece of legislation that adress concerns over asylum.

The few GOP who want to find a solution and the Dems who recognize that priorities demand a response including aid to Ukraine and Israel are being blocked by President Trump and a Maga who have a minority to control a 4 seat majority.

Just do not tell me how Right GOPers recognize and want to resolve the crisis at the border.

Let us make it simpler. Name me one piece of noteworthy legislation the GOP House has passed to the Senate? Spending deals by and through Dem votes notwithstanding

Now, there ante enough votes through Dems to pass the legislation. The problem is the Speaker knows that if he allows the bill to be voted on, the bill will pass with Dem votes. However, the far right will move w one vote to vacate him. President Trump’s machine or the machine behind President Trump will primary him.

It is the Hastert rule on play.
