Republicans are running scared all over the country. Trying to suppress the vote when they can and not certifying elections if they lose. Definitely a political party on the decline, willing to do anything, legal or illegal, to delay the inevitable.

They don't appeal to the American people anymore, just the white supremacists, and Karens among us.

I have many reasons.

But, I'll give one example.

This is a example of the way Rightists think - all the time.

Paving paradise: the controversial plan to develop protected Florida state parks

Biologist and wildlife television host Jeff Corwin speaks with MSNBC’s Alex Witt about his concerns over Florida governor Ron DeSantis’s administration plans to build golf courses and hotels at nine state parks.

Drill baby Drill

There are places in Florida that are sparsely populated and have parks and wildlife management areas, and other undeveloped spaces. The land is not the best for development. That's why the heavy development is elsewhere. But greed is rampant.

It's often referred to as Old Florida. There are several nice small towns in the area, some with good city-maintained campgrounds. The area I'm talking about is between Apalachicola and roughly Tampa on the west coast. It's beautiful there, lots of good fishing, not too many people. Econfina State Park is a good example.

https://youtu.be/qqyVxpFUgtw?si=mTYMKcqX8TX_dP1P

Here's an example of the small towns. This whole Gulf Coast area is referred to as the Nature Coast for a reason.

They aren't Republicans. When Republicans are endorsing plans to implement fascism in the United States like Project 2025 nobody has to be perfect, not being Republican and effectively keeping Republicans from gaining power is enough.

Do a thought experiment: Imagine the Democratic Party simply folded tomorrow, went completely out of business and left Republicans in charge. Within a very few months the United States would resemble 1938 Germany far more than anything the Constitution ever intended.

Flip it, and have the Republican Party cease to exist, leaving power to the Democrats. By Tuesday they will have fractured into at least three competing Parties and governing will proceed as compromise between those Parties will allow, pretty much as it's supposed to work.

Project 2025 plans to shield rightwing extremism will lead to ‘vigilante violence’

Recent reports show an alarming surge in extremist infiltration within police and military ranks. National security experts warn that these elements could become a powder keg, particularly if faced with a contested election or a second Trump term. One such report out of Florida found that Ku Klux Klan members were being actively recruited to join the local police force. Despite the rising threat of domestic rightwing extremism, Project 2025 appears poised to protect these groups by shielding them from government scrutiny and downplaying their threat as "manufactured." Former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade cautions, “If the FBI shrugs its shoulders to these things, or enables these things, we’re going to see more of it – and it’s a danger to public safety and democracy.”

The way I see it, electing someone who tried to undermine our election process is the real threat to the existence of our country.

Donald Trump belongs behind bars for his actions related to trying to steal the 2020 election.

In my opinion, no, you did not get that right.

The fact that you believe that is really the threat to the country.

First - it's not about hating Trump. Second - the socialist/communist belief is a figment.

The belief in a figment is the threat.

The alternative to your figment is fascism as the remedy.

If that’s what you truly believe, aren’t you morally bound to lie cheat and steal to keep “Hitler” out of office?

Fair enough, now stop with the bullshit claims of fascism and Nazi’s. Only one party installed their candidate without vote. Only one party repeatedly tries to remove the opposition by hook or crook. Only one party is threatened by free speech.

Project 2025, put together by former and current Trump staffers and advisors, is a clear blueprint for American fascism.

Kamala Harris got the only votes that matter to her Party's nomination, a clear majority of delegates at the convention. Primary voters do not vote for a candidate, they vote for delegates, very much like the Electoral College you Republicans like so well when you can use it to win without getting more votes, like Trump did.

As for your "hook or crook" bullshit, holding elective office does not confer immunity for criminal acts on anybody, no matter what a corrupt majority of the Supreme Court says. "No man is above the Law" was a founding principle of this Country, a key distinction from every monarchy we wanted to be unlike.
