Could Biden/Harris donors ask for refunds?

Source: AP

Here’s how Harris could take over Biden’s campaign cash if he drops out and she runs for president

The question remains, who would she choose as V.P.?

I imagine it would be someone who won't hurt the campaign efforts of Demo Senators running for reelection, especially in heavily contested races.
Logically, a centrist.
Maybe even someone from outside the party, an Independent who has caucused with Demos in the past.
Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema come to mind.

There is some speculation that were this to unfold, it would be late in the game in order to stifle opposition research.

The Republicans play this same game and people keep falling for it.

Remember when Hillary was at death's door?

Four years before that she was going to step in when Obama dropped out after one term.

I guess Joe didn't get the memo before he hosted military families for the Fourth of July...

TomP, I believe the 12th Amendment says no.

*edited to add:

https://constitution.congress....tution/amendment-12/

Specifically this portion:
"But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

I see it. The arrangement for choosing a Vice President now is different from then, but the constitutional requirement is not.

The Democrats thought American voters would favour Hillary Clinton over Trump. They were, of course, wrong. If they believe a darker, dumber version of Hillary is the answer, they will be wrong again. Although Kamala matches up well with Trump in the dumb statements department, she just doesn't have the fan base. Bill

American voters DID favor Hillary Clinton over Trump by about 3 million votes.

I don’t like or support Harris’ positions, but she’s at least functional, thus better than Biden.

That pesky electoral college messed that up, didn't it. Too bad for Democrats that the country can't just be run by the more populous states and the urbanites. Those rural Americans and interior states are not capable of self-governance. Regards, Bill.

oh, come on Bill.. you know the libbies will makeup stuff like "national popular vote" .. which is weird, as there isn't such a thing -- oh, you could concatenate the states and territories vote, but that's just mental gymnastics --aka - it aint in the constitution -

but i am sure someone will come along and promote/defend the tyranny of 12-14 states over the voices of all other ... weird how they weird supporters of that under reagan

Which is completely irrelevant since we are a representative republic and not a majority rule democracy.

Personally I would love every state to go over to the electoral systems adopted by Maine and Nebraska, where the popular vote gets you the 2 votes for the senators winner take all on those 2 votes per state and then each house district goes to the winner of the popular vote in that individual district.

If you take my state, Colorado, as an example then the electoral votes would wind up 6 to the blue team and 4 to the red team

If you look at the nation as a whole it would depower big winner take all states like CA, Tx, Pa and IL. It would in fact force the candidate to campaign more widely as a House district in MT would count just as much as one from Tue Bronx.
