Charlie Sykes' Bulwark column this morning shows a GOP in such great disorder that it might be best to just burn the whole Republican Party down and start over. We need worthy opposition to the Democrats and we are not getting it from this clown circus of liars, idiots and misfits.

Our democracy works best with a loyal opposition, but they have to be loyal to the good of the Country, not an anointed greasy savior.

MAGA losing elections and Speakers since 2018.

Yep everything is fine. Actually, the Speakership has been a problem for the GOP going back to President Obama.

And the head of the RNC.

I wonder when they'll get tired of losing...

Yes the republicans are in disarray.

The GOP is currently unable to get its extreme and moderate elements to agree with each other.

The democrats are better about this, but they do have their fractures as well.

When less than 1% of your caucus can hold the whole group hostage it’s bound to happen.

It’s not just the extremists that are the problem though. The GOP moderates have been promising action to their voters and seem to agree with their opponents more than the folks sending them to DC. That has caused the split in the Republican organization and to some extent, IMO, the Republican backing of Trump. They are where the democrats were in 2015 with their ignorance of the progressive wing and selecting HRC over Bernie Sanders.

Somehow Trump got those sides to make up… probably because Covid kept the normal process from working.

Not seeing it. If the GOP is fine, why aren't they winning more? In Alaska we elected a Democrat to replace a Republican in the US House and trump has lost the popular twice. That isn't "fine".I'd bet Tester will win re election in Montana. Tester ain't republican. I like Mitch McConnell just fine, but that he's the leader of the Republican Senate is hilarious and another easy example of not fine.

Conservatives are wrong to be angry with Peplos, Schumer or Biden, they should be angry with themselves for leaving conservative leadership in such incompetent hands.

The Conservatives all quit or surrendered to Trumpism.

Can you tell me where he has gained votes since 2020? Roe v Wade lost him a bunch of women, there are scads of former Republicans vowing they won't vote for him, he's facing 91 criminal charges, where has he gained any?

This whole mess has me convinced that Putin has some serious compromat on Trump, and Trump in turn has compromat on a whole lot of Congressmen and Senators.
Why else do they keep getting jerked back to heel every time they start to speak out against him?

Lindsey Graham was vehemently anti Trump; one quick trip to Mara Lago and he was grovelling at Trumps feet. No biggy there, he’s a gay pedophile and he actually thinks it’s a secret.

Ted Cruz listened to Trump insulting his wife and telling blatant lies about his father - and the next thing you know, he’s kissing Trumps ass as hard as he can.

Mitch McConnell, with his mega-wealthy Chicom wife was ready to put his turtle neck on the line and impeach Trump; the next thing you know he’s also back on the Trump train. And the list goes on…

These are not just staunch Republicans; these are people with some serious shit that they need to keep hidden, and Donald, with the help of Putin’s intel, knows what it is. And here we are, in the middle of campaign season, with Trumps de facto propaganda minister Tucker Carlson scampering off to Moscow to “interview Putin”.

Sure.

In 2016 the Russians hacked both the DNC and the RNC.

The "take" from the DNC was given to Wikileaks to use against Clinton.

The "take" from the RNC apparently made Putin the actual Chairman of the Republican Party.

Old fAKE NEWS LINGERS. When one believes Fox News he's gonna get it wrong:

Fox News' MacDonald Falsely Claims Leaked DNC “Taco Bowl Engagement” Email Was A “Slam On Latino Voters”
WRITTEN BY MEDIA MATTERS STAFF

PUBLISHED 07/27/16 1:56 PM EDT

Fox News’ Liz MacDonald falsely claimed one of the leaked email from the Democratic National Committee (DNC) hack showed party officials referring to Latino voter engagement as “taco bowl engagement.” The actual email is discussing a new video “to mop up more taco bowl engagement, and demonstrate Trump isn’t actually trying.” The email is dated May 6, one day after Donald Trump’s “taco bowls” tweet on Cinco de Mayo. A Univision article highlighted the timing, and pointed out the DNC put out a video on May 6, slamming Trump’s offensive tweet. McDonald ignored the context of the email, calling it “basically a slam on Latino voters.” From the July 27 edition of Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co.:

Well, it's no secret. The "liberal" news has reported it, without twist.

We are all concerned.

Despite Joe's gaffes, it's clear that he has no fascist intent for the country. That's the main thing, far more important than gaffes.

There are a dozen Americans on this Internet board that would make fine presidents. My friends would choose good Cabinets and help, would realize their limitations and would do what they could would not do what they couldn't.

That America insists on Trump and Biden is tragically hilarious. Despite it destroying my daughters nation I still think it's comical, I guess because I'll be leaving her the ability to abandon ship.

I know of no other political crater forum that's anywhere close to sane.

Anyway, hopefully it contributes to sanity, at least. Most herein are better informed than others I know.
