That's BS.

It's a false equiv too. Trump says he will pardon many convicted of violent crimes.

You like spin, a lot, so it could be argued that Trump gave Biden the open line.

The one pardon that I hope Biden doesn't give is to Trump.

There are many cases where neither Biden nor Trump can receive or give pardons.

So yet more my guy it’s ok, your guy it’s wrong hypocritical behavior.

Just because YOU think it’s false equivalence doesn’t make it so.

Legally, Biden has the right.

Trump will have the right.

Nothing anybody can do about it at this point.

In my opinion, it’s showing that there really isn’t much difference morally between Biden and Trump.

Actually, I think it's a fact that it's false equivalence.

The difference is in the words "non-violent criminals" vs violent criminals. And Trump is planning to pardon seditionists and insurrectionists. That's a fact.

Other differences are those Biden pardoned are not referred to as political hostages or patriots by Biden.

And Biden is not pardoning to gain political capital. Trump is and he's embellishing it with multiple lies.

And saying "there really isn’t much difference morally between Biden and Trump" doesn't' show what you think it does.

That's a twofer in the same post.

It's shows that you don't have the ability to make distinctions which explains why you in particular make false equivalences often.

Oh, I get the differences you claim, I just feel they’re not significant.

The items I saw were the 39 pardons that Biden gave today were nonviolent… but he’s also saying more are coming… and the 1500 commutations were not stated as all being nonviolent. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of them are related to the Floyd riots.

President’s discretion. I do not like this person received clemency, but the person so vested gets the call.

If the next Dem Presidential Canister defends the decision, I will put that in the reasons not to vote for them when the assessment comes.

That crime was very harmful, traumatic, and dangerous to those children. In addition, to the destruction that crime did to justice.

Rita Crundwell was client of mine for years. When the FBI was gathering her assets I first had to dedicate an office staff to them to help them find them and then was hired by the FBI to house and take care of her assets so they could be sold. What she did to that poor town was unbelievable. I cannot imagine why/how Biden would find his way to commute her sentence.

I don't agree that it's presidential discretion and we should just put up with dubious pardons. Presidents who issue them should pay the price, by public criticism if nothing else.

Over the years I've seen many despicable presidential pardons by various presidents. Both sides of the aisle. Presidents seem to give in to their worst impulses when it comes to pardons.

The Biden pardons mentioned here sound indefensible. I'd like to know the rationale behind them...but of course presidents never reveal the rationale.

I believe presidents are usually paying back contributors or returning political favors when they do this. Maybe Crundwell's spouse or relative was a contributor either to Biden or to some other politician Biden owed a favor to.

I don’t see Roland disagreeing with the constitution, rather with the lack of accountability.

I’m certain that any limitation on pardons would need to be a constitutional change unless it was, like some states, more a policy change that the officeholders just abided by.

I agree with him that presidents have made pardons and commutations of dubious character over the years.

The defense of Biden by claiming any parent would do so is a crock with regards to Hunter. I can understand it, but it’s a condemnation not a justification.

And again, his acts of clemency show all the business of Biden being a kindly if somewhat addled old man are false. The guy is and was as bad as his opposition was claimed to be… maybe worse because Trump at least tells you what he thinks/plans on doing; Biden et al at least know that their proposed action is wrong enough that you don’t broadcast it while folks are making decisions on who to vote for.

I knew Trump says he would pardon a bunch of rioters and miscreants. Biden said he would not pardon Hunter, and on its face lots of people trusted his word.

Looks to me that ME and his cries of false equivalency are just so much whistling in the wind.

Doc, coupled with his self stated elitism (which is only 3 short steps from aristocracy) then questioning literally his president... well, maybe that shows a little growth...

As for him being elitist and his concept that either he should get more votes or his vote should count more is funny.

The "liberal elite" is exactly why 6 million less dems showed up to vote, and thick headed people are a huge part of it.

And, frankly, I like pointing out his hypocrisy.. I am 99% sure he has me on ignore, because he is tired of continuously losing arguments..

My point was that when presidents issue pardons like these, we shouldn't just throw up our hands and say "presidential discretion." We may not be able to void the pardons on any legal ground, but we can and should heap all the criticism on the president that we can generate.

Biden should be followed by criticism for these pardons for the rest of his life. Shunned socially, if I had my way. Labeled a scoundrel.

oh, honey .. i know you are tired of losing --

this is the most OBVIOUS "seed planting and foreshadowing" that you are planning on fighting every trump action -- it's as obvious as a cat trying to bury a scat on a tile floor -

i don't question that it's within biden's power to pardon his son .. sure it is, don't care -- the PARDON isn't the issue -- it's the lies and bad character to have stated, for months, he wasn't going to do so, and that "no one is above the law" from biden's own lips -- a whole series of lies, that the dems took "moral high ground" on, only to find it was a "island" in a cesspit
