well we will see how long before we submit ... there is always a cost and it is not only one way as your country will discover ...

jeff: 61% of your oil and natural gas/lng is coming from canada alone ... even if you start tomorrow drill baby drill there will be a cost on it to get that level ... you want our oil you will pay for it ... and trust me your president has made one thing that i will never believe will happen in my lifetime: getting all of us more patriotic and getting along ...

medved, not going to argue the figures, and will assume you are correct - (let's recall i grew up in Houston, Specifically in refinery row - i am from where gas comes from!!

and yet MOST us refineries can't process WTI crude - and this as been argued since the 80s that the epa should allow more refineries - great paying jobs!! like HS grad can make 150K after a couple years on the job

all that aside, Saeed said tariffs NEVER work, and i presented a recent example of how, yes, indeed, they DO work

We almost caught a Civil War over states trying to nullify federal tariffs. The Supreme Court held states did not possess the power to declare Fed legislation null and void. President Jackson dated the states led by South Carolina to defy it. Jackson’s economy was not very robust. It was actually very poor. Those tariffs while constitutional, and Jackson did his job, did not work.

I remember we had tariffs specifically to protect US shotgun manufacturing. I guess that worked as we saw Parker et al become a thing. I do not know what great gain that was.

I am disappointed at folks making excuses for this President intentionally harming our economy.

It is a back-door tax increase. He is counting on us to believe that the External Revenue Service is getting their money from exporting countries. When I buy tariff-eligible parts from Digikey, the tariff is added to my bill.

Yes, because despite the world economic expert the equine surgeon these tax increases shall be felt by end of the stream purchasers.

This economy is too fragile for trolls and games of fools.

Exactly. But Puff Daddy likes to wrap it up in a big old tortilla that the MAGAts can munch on without knowing what's in the burrito . . . we are punishing these countries, poking a stick in their eye for fentanyl, illegal immigration, taking jobs, etc. And the MAGAts do what they always do, stand in line to order Puff Daddy's burritos.
