I read somewhere that the lawyer shutting down his office in DC (Biden's associated with his working for the university of Pennsylvania IIRC) found it in a personal envelope of Biden's and when he saw it was classified material, reported it to the Archives. On November 2nd. And now its out? Seems like this is SOP for the political class, but they sure used it as a black mark on Trump. Note that Biden refused to comment when asked multiple times now. I think we can all see the difference between taking, falsely stating on a subpoena sll is returned, and refusing to return classified documents vs simple negligence. Both are troubling. One carries criminal culpability if true. The other is sufficient grounds to not vote for him. | |||

Again, it seems that taking them home is more the norm than not in the political class. I would agree that Biden is being less vocally defensive than Trump… but geez, guys, if supposedly archives knew about all Trump’s stuff because it was tracked, why didn’t they even say anything about Biden’s? If it has security markings, it’s tracked (by my limited knowledge) yet the discovery was by an attorney in Biden’s employ in a unsecured office who turned it over (I don’t necessarily buy that Joe told him to turn it in.) I can see a difference in what has been reported so far as far as numbers, but as far as false equivalency, sorry. Multiple items that are covered, and Biden doesn’t even have the canard that he could have declassified them (whether it is at whim, as Trump claims, or a more deliberate process, Trump may have thought he could… Biden certainly knew better when he took them.) While Trump is a miserable excuse, under the law, both did the same act. Both tried to hide it (Biden refused to answer questions initially and by the fact it didn’t come out for months showed he hoped it wouldn’t). So equivalent. Now, I don’t know what the specifics of the material are. It could be that the Biden risk to our security is less- but Biden has shown with Hunter that he was sympathetic to his son, and Hunter was obviously selling something to the various parties involved, so there is a logical potential for harm by Biden at least as big as the lefts claim that Trump was going to sell secrets to Putin… The big difference is Trump was belligerent about his denial of responsibility. Biden is just shutting up and letting plausible deniability go by having his staff trot out defenses. The lefties are defending Biden every bit as much as the righties were Trump. Their guy is “different” and it should be obvious! … according to them. If playing fast and loose with government secrets is disqualifying, as you lefties claimed over Trump, you better start advocating for impeachment…. And in Biden’s case it preexisted his election. Now, this is not me saying Trump is exonerated (for you who claim I am an apologist- I agree Trump shouldn’t have done it, and should face his penalty- including prison time if the court so rules…) just pointing out that legally, Biden is just as, if not more guilty under the law. But yeah, I think like Hilly, you all are convinced a guy who you claimed was so smart and ethical was too damn dumb to realize it was wrong and it is “reasonable” to claim he had no intent, which for all your comments on how dumb Trump was, you automatically assumed it was for nefarious purposes with no evidence of it. Seems from where I sit, the government agents are taking sides on this. The way the government has been handling it is quite different. At least Garland was smart enough to assign someone else for Biden’s case unlike his personal handling of Trump’s. | |||
