We’re in the rain shadow now and have gotten an inch so far, but no strong winds. Home is 75 miles inland due north from the Gulf and luckily the storm has veered east. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

The Blue Moon is tonight. I think that affects tides a lot. Same here, jdollar, so far. Also they predict this storm will merge up with another which is out in the Atlantic now. I did a trip to Pensacola FL a few days ago, and my rig broke down. I'm glad I'm not there now. It's been very dry here for several days; grass turning brown, farmers irrigating a lot. The pecan trees have been dropping immature nuts due to lack of water. The winds will probably knock more off the trees. So, we'll probably have another year with poor pecan yield, and some other crop damage. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weat...afeebcfa4b4ec8&ei=24 https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...bQF?ocid=socialshare https://www.msn.com/en-us/news...V6M?ocid=socialshare https://www.msn.com/en-us/weat...lertid=1421693386840 https://www.msn.com/en-us/weat...afeebcfa4b4ec8&ei=36 Last I looked, they predict winds of 40 to 60 when it gets here later today, and lots of rain. Apalachicola Florida is over 200 miles south/south/east of here, which tames hurricanes down a bit by the time they get here, but they are still significant. The last one, as I recall about 4 years ago, came through here at night. It had moved on by sunrise. I think the eye came right through here because at first the winds were from one direction, then calm, then from another direction. It just roared. It took the road crews several days to clean up the fallen trees. ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Thus "radicalized conservative" is an oxymoron. At this point we’ve gotten 2 1/2” and rain is tapering off. Not much sustained wind but occasional guts to 30 mph. We’ve dodged a bullet. Vote Trump- Putin’s best friend… To quote a former AND CURRENT Trumpiteer - DUMP TRUMP

The weather channel I use shows the center of it has past here. Okay here. But it got FL pretty hard on the NW coast. https://www.msn.com/en-us/weat...44862b30e20098&ei=67 Webcam footage shows Gulf Coast town entirely underwater as Hurricane Idalia barrels ahead Story by Brad Reed • 5h ************* Real conservatives aren't radicalized. Hopefully everyone within the storm surge potential has their home up on piers. I did see some news video this morning that some people were trying to drive through about two feet of water and basically- no mas... Ouch. ~Ann

I was in a meeting today with our Emergency Response Coordinator. The Feds have not funded FEMA for this year yet.

https://www.fema.gov/grants/pr...023%20EMPG%20Program. But ,technically, NO government agency has been "funded" since FY2009 - the last year we had an approved budget opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I do believe this is what he was referring to. FEMA and the Administration submitted a supplemental request of $11 billion for the DRF. The Fiscal Year 2023 Omnibus funded $5 billion of that request. However, to your point that is direct and correct: The EMPG Program allocations were approved in Feb 2023. In addition. Today, the Department of Homeland Security announced final allocations of $605 million in six Fiscal Year 2023 competitive preparedness grant programs. These allocations, together with the almost $1.4 billion in non-competitive grant funding announced earlier this year, total more than $2 billion in FY 2023 to help prepare our nation against threats and natural disasters. The grant programs provide funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, nonprofit agencies, and the private sector to build and sustain capabilities to prevent, protect against, respond to and recover from acts of terrorism and other disasters. The total amount for each grant program is set by Congress and the allocations are made by the Department. The Today, in that information was July 21, 2023. So, just in time for Hurricane season. That is a good thing. Now, I found this interesting and part of our discussion: A summary of 2023 FEMA Expenditures. I am not the best at reading these things. I read cases, but if I am reading this correctly, according to this Summary up to Feb 2023, KY has received no allocations for our flooding and tornado catastrophic events. Those communities in far East KY were and are still washed away. I mean things as big as Courthouses gone down the Cumberland. Now, I am willing to be told I am reading this wrong. https://www.fema.gov/sites/def...nd-report_032023.pdf
