And, it's not the first time trump has issued questionable pardons....gotta cover your criminal accomplices' backs.

Supporters and political allies
Trump's use of the pardon power was marked by an unprecedented degree of favoritism.[12] He frequently granted executive clemency to his supporters or political allies,[17][18] or following personal appeals or campaigns in conservative media,[19] as in the cases of Rod Blagojevich, Michael Milken, Joe Arpaio, Dinesh D'Souza, and Clint Lorance, as well as Bernard Kerik.[17] Trump granted clemency to five of his former campaign staff members and political advisers: Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Michael Flynn, Stephen K. Bannon, and George Papadopoulos.[20]

Cry me a river boys. Missed your complaints about these pardons.

Damn him for this.
Damn Don Trump for pardoning and of the 1/6 criminals.

This is an inexcusable blow to our nation and our system.

When the Islamists or the liberals, or the communists or some other radical attack the government and get off with a wink and a nod because their guys are in power, I'm gonna race to be the first to say it's Trump's and all who supported hims doing.

It is outrageous we smile and laugh while sinking this low this fast.

How so? How is that a good point?

Is the point that millions of Americans voted for Trump inspite of him saying he would? I agree that is.

I've said it several times before; it not that people like Ilan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are in office, it's that they have the constituents to put them there. There are actually enough of my fellow Americans that identify as Islamic Terrorists to elect Hamas to federal office.

But the same token, there are enough of my fellow Americans to successfully support Trump in his efforts to pardon the convicted Seditionist LHeym mentioned above.

Mind blowing.

Pretty much. People knew they were getting it. where as pretty much everything Biden has said on the issue has been a lie.

Don't get me wrong, I think the whole presidential pardon thing is crazy and bound for misuse and anti democratic, as well as an interference on justice.

Most of the people charged for January 6 were not violent. Some were and those shouldn't get a pardon in my opinion, but the rest of them were just political prosecutions and should be.

Biden's pardons of his criminal family are totally different and totally shameful.

Your revisionist history is astounding. If the election was rigged why was no evidence ever offered in court in over 60 cases?

Nope. Uh uh. No way.

As responsible adults we reject the notions of "they did it too!", "they did it first!", "if they get to so should I!" and, " It's not fair!" and other infantile excuses.

"Good for the goose is good for the gander" is a tailspin into the gutter and destruction.

Trump has only one game plan. He's committed to authoritarianism. This is just the beginning. In the next days and weeks, he and Team will see how much they can get away with, flood the zone, overwhelm the system.

Here's a video that shows what I'm sick about. These well-meaning types who say IF Trump can pivot things will work out okay just don't get it. The IF part starts at about 7:00. Most of the first part is about Biden's farewell speech which was like pissing into the wind.

Can Trump be seen as a unifying force in second term? Presidential historian weighs in

Trump is unifying alright. He unifies radicals.

Authoritarianism 101: Maddow explains how Trump's embrace of violence follows a type

Rachel Maddow explains that Donald Trump's embrace of political violence on his behalf, particularly after pardoning the January 6 rioters, is a familiar practice among autocrats and has happened in every country that has had to contend with a leader like Trump.

He even pardoned the seditious conspirators and those who assaulted the police.

Trying to rewrite the Constitution concerning citizenship w an executive order against S.Ct. precedent from 1868.

These executive orders are why I would not vote for him and those who have should be ashamed.

Look at what really fuels Trump, pre wrestling, UFC (same promotion), reality tv, tech billionaires that even Dr. Easter see as heroes, streaming events.

The issues Trump picks. “ I am going to take back the Panama Canal.” This is not a coincidence as President Carter is lying in state. The breaking of protocol and respect concerning lowering the flags.

He is truly a disgrace.

Dr. Easter Findlay tells the truth that he is an election denier. The election was not rigged, and this is worse than what President Biden pardoned.

Speaking of weak links, I think you are one.

Does that surprise you? Of course you think you are strong and are right-minded.

Do you ever consider that your strong-man has manipulated you specifically because of your worldview, and he uses you, just like he has all the rogue militias ready at his command.

Think about it like this:

It's very clear that Trump fancies himself as a strong man, and portrays it. He's got the celebrity mentality, and acts it out. His best game is bully, rage, revenge and fear. There's nothing intellectual with Trump. It's all rote gut, the instinct of a monster.

Is that the "strong leader" you respect?

My Constitution and my intellectual honesty are worth more than a man or a party.

Trump is within his vested constitutional power to pardon these people.

If we care about honesty, VP JD Vance was adamant that those who assualt police should not be pardoned. Apparently, VP Vance did not run that one by his boss.

Again, I will be the first to say, “ President Trump in his sole discretion can pardon these people.”

What he can’t do is change the Constitution nor Supreme Court precedent on the matter by an Executive Order. If President Obama had so blatantly and arrogantly tried that, say the 2nd Amendment, M. Shy and his kind (which includes me) would shout such dm act down.

That is the intellectual dishonesty and hypocrisy of the far Right.

Ah yes, a strong leader. They called other folks who sought “total control of the government.” That is the language used while Trump signed executive orders. I cannot call the use of Executive Orders to circumvent the Constitution anything else than an abuse of power and power grab.

The Constitution does not permit any president to change or modify S. Ct. precedent that goes back to 1868 that interprets the Constitution as amended by the 14th Amendment.

That is an abuse of power. When a president assumes power not delegated to the office by the Constitution, he is acting tyrannical. The fact one may agree with the policy is immaterial and irrelevant. Luckily, the Supreme Courr is still here to squash this attempt.
