It took far more people to prosecute the criminals of 1/6/21 than there were criminals, and it cost far more to prosecute them than repair the physical damage they did to the capital. Those are things that can be measured in money, and perhaps time.

The damage they did to the nation can't be measured in money or time, nor can the temporary justice, nor can the harm from calling them hostages, justifying releasing them be measured.

How can the harm to a nation be measured when the real harm stems from the Belief in Fiction? Mere math is insufficient.

There quite a few Jan 6ers that raise quite a problem......I will never condone anyone...left or right....laying hands on a peace officer.

But as many have said, and I agree with, the US constitution is all, period!

I am concerned that due process was NOT applied to the J6rs.....this is not a tit for tat.....many, many criminals have got off on technicalities..... Those technicalities, all have to do with constitutionalalities (sp).....

For a thinking citizen, which I hope I am, this raises issues.... I don't know the right and wrong of all of it, but I do know that every single CITIZEN of this country deserves the full protection of our constitution.

What you call technicalities is due processes.

The president has the sole, vested, full and unbridled power to pardon for federal crimes. He has used it. So be it. To do so, barring a bribe (and the S.CT’s decision on immunity calls that into serious question) is what the Constitution calls for.

Presidents Washington and Johnson both pardoned groups who took up arms against the United States. Now, President Johnson was nearly removed for it.

We will never know the application of due process to these cases because the applets courts were prevented from review.

Also, unlike you, I have no qualms about the prosecutions to begin with.
