Trump is now pushing to shut the government down over making it illegal for non-citizens to vote....something that already is illegal. Hard saying who is dumber, Trump or his followers 2020

If there is one thing people seem to love, that I despised, is redundancy.
No matter the political leanings, many are all for it.?

So, what's the purpose of a funding bill attachment which is for making something illegal that's already illegal?

While I agree 100%, I also do not feel that this has anything to do with achieving redundancy, I believe it is about putting on a show before the election.

Maybe Steve, but from my own time dealing with it, some people like to beat a dead horse. I would see it from all sides while trying to write town plans, the same shit said a different way, over every issue already addressed.

Yet somehow redundancy in law is important when you are dealing with guns?

Actually, redundant systems do increase the chance that a rare bad event is caught before damage to the whole occurs. Think aircraft controls, warship damage control systems, or medical procedures.

At one point, the thought that a noncitizen would vote was ridiculous. Now some jurisdictions are giving them the right to vote in “local” elections and we have seen more votes cast than registered voters recently in some places.

There is a group that thinks this is ok, and a group that is worried about it. We have had a few elections that have been very close lately.

I’ve said I’ve seen evidence of voter fraud, reported it, and it was ignored. Statistically significant? That’s a different argument, but if they ignore reports, how likely is the statistical evidence not accurate?

About 20 ish years ago, I was voting in pasa-get down - Dena, and watched a lady sorting through several voter registrations as she came immediately back through the line. I reported it to the "captian" and was immediately called a racist... I watched her come through a 3rd time and pointed it out..the "captian" allowed her to vote and THEN sent her packing.. I saw her vote 3x.. nothing

Could Crbutler’s evidence of fraud have been ignored bc when it was checked out determined not to be fraud?

The woman convicted then overturned by Texas appellate court of voting fraud comes to mind.

Here vote was never counted, and she bring unsure of her status and was honest on telling the poll worker her history. She was instructed to complete a provisional ballot as instructed.

Ohio recently found 597 noncitizens wrongfully registered to vote. Of those 138 voted during the past year and are being referred to county prosecutors. Texas recently removed 6,500 noncitizens from the voter rolls, and approximately 1,930 had a voting history. Tip of the iceberg in just two states...where's audit reports from the other 48 states??

This was before absentee ballots. He had signed in and voted.

Problem was, my partner had signed his death certificate about a month prior.

So how in Sam Hill did the guy sign in and vote being dead for 6 weeks?

Oh, and it obviously wasn’t his writing.

When I called the SOS office re it, the response was “if his signature was there, he voted on Election Day. You have no proof he didn’t.”

Sorry, I knew and liked the guy. He’s dead. They were massively uninterested in looking in to it.

A county attorney friend said that they could not determine which ballot it was, so no way to change that, and given that there were no checks of your ID and no surveillance, no way to find the guy, so the SOS really has nothing they can do about it.

MN allows political parties to have folks in the polling place to vouch for voters as long as they do not campaign/advertise for a candidate.

Man, you guys have some loose voting procedures. In Alaska, and here in Idaho, it works like this:

1. Show ID.

2. Poll workers checks your name off in a voter registry.

3. Poll worker hands you a ballot.

4. Vote.

5. Turn in your ballot.

6. Get a little "I have voted" sticker.

How could anyone vote twice?

My DL is my voter ID card, we do not have a specific card for voting. It works here just like Rolland describes it. I'm not sure how you could possibly vote more than once here.

Was that the royal "we"?

How do they get more than one ID? Here and in AK, we use the driver's license.

And isn't there a voter registry? How do they vote again when their name is already checked off?
