I guess he could try to pardon himself. Seems like the law on that is unclear. I'd say it's more likely that he'd appoint a friendly AG who would have the DOJ drop the charges. That also might not be possible now that the wheel is grinding forward in a United States District Court. The judge would probably have to be on board. Read today that the trial judge has already set a potential trial date in mid August. Won’t happen, of course, but I’m surprised she is trying to expedite trial. Hope it works.
