I’m all for term limits and undue influence. The problem is that those we elect are not. We the people need to vote better. That’s why I stopped voting for anyone of the duopoly. The more independent voters, the better off America is.

Complaining about the two-party political system is straight out of the history of Venezuela. You have a nut-job (Chavez / Trump) claiming that the system is corrupt and ineffective, and only they and their revolution (Chavismo / MAGA) can bring glory back to the country. Chavez claimed COPEI an AD were both destroying Venezuela. Chavez tried to overthrow the elected government. (Trump tried to do the same on January 6th.)

Chavez finally got elected. He stuffed the supreme court with his lackeys. He (and Maduro) changed the constitution to ensure they were president for life, they did not accept the results of any election that said otherwise.

Chavez suppressed the press, manipulated electoral laws, and arrested his critics.

I'm sure this is all starting to sound familiar.

I wouldn't hold too much on my use of the word classic. I could have just as easily used common, or something else. The ploy is irrelevant too the persons status or elevation.

I tried to give it some substance by suggesting looking at outcomes. What has become of it that can be pointed to as objective facts, like the over 100 exec orders, similarities to what's in the Project 2025 manifesto, campaign promises and BS, GOPer kowtowing, and suggesting it all is/was predictable. The conservative agenda has been evident for a long time.

Some of "us" approved or disapproved, very much either way. Many knowingly or should have known, explicitly or complicitly, what they were voting for or against, especially on Trump(ism).

Do you think any of those pissed off Canucks or Danes, or Russians, Ukrainians, Baltic and Europeans, Down Under residents, etc., say to themselves anything akin to forgiveness and distinguishing those of us who disapprove of Trump?

To the world we're a generic bunch of fools with ill intent. IOW, Trump's menace, attitude, character, lies, Dark personality, agenda reflects on us all generically, even as some of us are embarrassed and some are proud.

Yeah Im not feeling the need to argue it. For us that dont get a say, politically speaking, it s what it is. We watch and plan how we can deal with the consequences. And genuinely hope for the best. For you guys, and all the places in the world this touches.
The only point of contention we might have, Is that for a long time Ive said he might win, even when it looked like he wouldn't. Isn't that right Jeffive?
