That is actually better for VP Harris.

I would not let him get up off the mat. Let the last image people see of him be the debate.

If he got back in the ring she would just humiliate him again, if he doesn't she calls him "chicken" until November.

He's a bully and a coward who got his ass beat publicly, like cowards everywhere he'll only try again if he can do it from ambush, a sneak attack of some kind.

If he kept turning everything back to immigration and possibly the economy he would stand a better chance in the debate, and I'm sure that's what his coaches would have been telling him, but he is to easily triggered by someone who knows how to push his buttons.

If his opponent can so easily manipulate him Putin/ Xi / insert name here, will have no trouble.

His supporters perceive that he would be better at managing the economy, as do some undecided voters if you believe the polls.

That worked for him during the primaries. He stayed off the stage and let his followers do the work for him. He was a fool, fueled by his success against the mentally challenged Joe Biden, when he agreed to the last debate. His problem here is that he has been exposed. Any one of the other primary candidates could easily have handled Kamala. Old man Trump could not. Bill

I agree and suspect that Harris is fine with trump refusing to debate further despite her campaign's request for another one. It's never going to get any better for her than the last debate. She broke and exposed him. Finally, somebody on a national stage stood up and called him on all his bullshit and did it in an articulate, well-thought out prepared way. He looked like a fool. Which is why he wants nothing to do with another debate. As I noted in the OP....he doesn't make very many smart choices but choosing not to debate Harris again is an exception.

All the Harris nay-sayers here on the Crater have been pretty much utterly silent about the debate. I wonder why that is? coffee

I'm way more interested in responses from Lane, Dumb Jim and the rest of the usual trump apologists.

Seems like they have been rendered silent by trump getting his ass kicked in the debate. No posts. Long silence.

Waiting to hear from you Lane. Tell us how trump dominated. dancing

Maybe Trump actually made an adult decision for once. He got his ass kicked by a woman and decided not to run that risk again. I do find it high comedy to have him talk about how he dominated both debates. He beat an age addled Biden and got his hat handed to him by Harris. Only in Trump land can those experiences be considered dominating.

Now Trumps lackeys are saying “maybe a third debate”. They’re probably waiting for the welts on his ass go down from the spanking Harris laid on him last Tuesday.

They should have one on Fox, so people can see what bias really looks like. Anywhere else is just preaching to the choir.

Trump wouldn’t look at Harris during the debate. Clearly, she was properly prepared to handle Trump by looking at him, keeping her chin elevated and on occasion placing her hand under her chin.

But all that aside, does anybody believe if he can’t match Harris that he would be able to handle Putin? He really isn’t very sharp or quick on his feet.

I think whether Trump can't match Harris is aside the point regarding Putin. IOW, I don't think it has much to do with being sharp or quick, since they won't be "debating".

Instead, many have described Trump's demeanor towards Putin is "fawning". In psychology that means a lot, as it does in the interactions between the two. Certainly Putin is smart enough to see it.

There's more to it than we know, but not more than we can imagine.

Fawn Definition & Meaning

Merriam-Webster
https://www.merriam-webster.com › dictionary › fawn
5 days ago — 1. to court favor by a cringing or flattering manner; courtiers fawning on the king. 2. to show affection

===================================

OTOH, Trump's demeanor with Putin is like a pretend alpha dog meeting up with a real alpha dog. It's called submission.

Sic is usually found in brackets or parentheses , and it can also be italicized. It shows your readers that you didn’t just make a typo.

A writer strives for clarity. Putting parentheses around a word like "sic" creates ambiguity. Is the "sic" part of the original quote?

I was taught and believe that it's better to use brackets to signify an error in the original quote.

So I would write the sentence this way: "Mikey knows all about stalking.. he's kinda an expurt [sic]."

Incidentally, an ellipses is designated with three periods, not two. So:

"Mikey knows all about stalking... he's kinda an expurt [sic]."
