Anything not related to his guilt or innocence on the specific charges he's being tried for is extraneous and should, and almost certainly will, be excluded.

He is charged with criminal acts, not stupid claims fed to him by Steve Bannon, Alan Dershowitz and Stephen Miller, with a dash of Tom Fitton.

I really don’t see how you can completely divorce the politics of the situation from the trial or investigation.

The sad thing is that for so many on the right, if it was anyone other than Trump, they would have a very different view of the situation. Even other republicans.

Look at the comments re Dick Cheney, GW Bush, or, even more closely related, Nixon.

Trump’s use of populist politics has connected him to his supporters more than any other president.

The democrats have done more close linking of president to his popularity, but their figures haven’t been attacked like this- except HRC, and her popularity was nowhere near others - like Obama, Bill Clinton, or FDR.

This is one of the big problems with populism.

Hey Sarge, i recognize that 5th grade is about where you top out, but if you could get a lawyer to help you with actually understanding how these processes are done...

if what YOU (almost) understand was the actual normal, then this article wouldn't be news.

Maybe there is irony there in the contest of Jack Smith representing the rule of law and Trump representing an attack on the rule of law while claiming righteousness and patriotism.
