So tell me....If these countries were sending solid citizens here, instead of the dregs of their societies, why won't why welcome them back?

I thought we were getting Lawyers, Doctors and Engineers? Big Grin

This is how a President defends its own borders and people...period.

Wish in one hand and something in the other?

I am very happy Trump is playing hardball on immigration and the border.

According to latest news, it didn't take long for the Colombian President to go belly up and even offer his Presidential aircraft to assist with the deportations.

"Earlier in the day Sunday, Gustavo appeared to fold almost immediately after Trump threatened to punish the country for refusing deportation flights. Gustavo offered his presidential plane to repatriate migrants coming back from the U.S."

The President of Colombia sent his plane for Colombians dumped in Honduras. The two military flights to Colombia were refused because the deportees were chained up, handcuffs and leg irons. Trump announced 25% tariffs, Colombia countered by announcing 50% tariffs, Trump folded and future deportees to Colombia will not be shackled.

All Colombia asked for was for their people to be treated with dignity, and they got it.

you mental gymnastics are AMAZING, fifi -- on par with the best of the best that AR has to offer --

you seemed to have missed the point -
the illegals ARE going back
and, in the case of columbia, COMLUBIA is paying for it (remember your little post whining about the cost of transport?)

If certain morons here would get some news somewhere besides Fox they would appear less stupid:

Link

Learning to spell the Country under discussion would help too. Colombia accepted 142 repatriation flights last year without difficulty because the Biden Administration didn't get their jollies by humiliating those they were deporting.

Brazil is also pissed about the same thing.

This is from your pasted Link which is somehow in contrast with what you claimed:

"White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Colombia agreed to "all of President Trump's terms" including accepting Colombian migrants returned from the United States on U.S. military aircraft".

Oh, to handcuff and shackle an undesirable is common practice and if the Colombian President is offended by this undignified method of transportation its no big deal as once the plane touches down they will be freed of their restraints as they exit the aircraft.

Were they protesters, maybe? Trump is now talking about exile of American citizens...

Columbia should have threatened to cut off cocaine shipments.
That might have had an influence on the District of Columbia.

No surprise to my friends here, I'm no fan of President Trump.

That being true, if Trumps antics, (legal or not,) change for the better the way immigrants/ immigration does business I'll be very happy.

Have to disagree somewhat, Scott. I join you in wanting to stop/drastically curtail illegal immigration--but I only support actions that are legal and constitutional.

R, I'd have no problem with Trump being impeached, jailed, humiliated, made to walk the plank. He's begged for it, he's earned it. Other presidents have found themselves in similar circumstances. Lincoln freed the slaves, Jackson interred the Cherokee, FDR served a 3rd term. What Constitutional right did Jefferson have to buy Louisiana?

Sometimes these "rulers" have to or are willing to push the envelope in order to achieve their goal. If they fail the Constitutional barriers, I say so be it, suffer the consequences. As I've said here more than once, were I POTUS for a day, id conquer Mexico and Haiti and I'd do it in less than a month and maybe less than a week. Go ahead and impeach me, my job is complete.

The difference between our historical leaders and the "rulers" we have today is that those in the past were willing to put duty before self, it's the opposite today.

I think Trump pushes the envelope for his selfish glory, but that doesn't mean we might not occasionally benefit.
Regardless, I won't be laying a wreath at Trump's altar.

There is something seriously wrong with any country that refuses to welcome back their own citizens!

Ours chartered flights to fly all over the world to bring home our citizens when they got stranded by the Chink Virus!
