I have voted mostly Libertarian for decades, but have to concede that there are projects that just don't get done in the private sector. Cancer research seems to be one of them, along with building space hardware. Privately funded space hardware is happening now, but probably wouldn't have been without the massive government-funded efforts in the past.

National parks would not have come about if the choicest land was privatized.
Land in our western states is private anywhere there's surface water, and lots of it is posted.

Bottom line, we live in a reasonably successful mixed economy. So be it.
We have Tejas for those who like it the other way, and they are welcome to it.
