Something we can agree on — Open Range.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
J. Lane Easter, DVM
A born Texan has instilled in his system a mind-set of no retreat or no surrender. I wish everyone the world over had the dominating spirit that motivates Texans.– Billy Clayton, Speaker of the Texas House
No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.
Really!
I thought the dialogue in both those movies was a bit stilted or something. No really memorable lines that become catch phrases do you think?
We can quote The Big Lebowski ad nauseum and I think I have Talladega Nights memorized.
I'm not bagging on Cosner, he's always been very entertaining. Not for me to say probably but I think he's a better actor than director.
I thought the gunfight at the end of Open Range was one of the best I've ever seen. When Costner says "You the one who shot our friend?" and then drops that guy with a shot to the forehead...epic.
Costner’s overall dialogue is the weak point on Open Range. However, everyone else has great dialogue.
A man has a right to defend his life and property.
The letter reading and chocolate scene.
It won’t be when this 12 gauge hits it
The overall shooting of the film. If we made Open Range today, the cattle, whether, guns would all be CGI on a green screen.
The gunfight is the best Hollywood Gunfight from a Western perspective besides, maybe, Stagecoach or The Man who Shot Liberty Valance.
For Love of the Game really identified the changes in modern sports we would see with contracts, tv money, and tech sector/hedge funds buying control of teams.
I have softened on Big Labowski, but I do not consider it very good. Entertaining within its context? Okay, I finally got it.
The GOP's State of the Union Reaction
Look at MAGA desperately trying to spin President Biden's phenomenal State of the Union Address. We're not sure they even believe themselves.
Biden's age - 81, compared to Trump's 91 counts, four indictments.
And other indictments are probably in play, especially in AZ.
Then there's the civil cases:
Pffffttt, you already know he's just repeating what somebody smarter than him said, and that means it could have been any of most people on the planet.
