All of the flooding and not a word how/if it has affected any of our members.

Guess it would have helped if I had put UAE/Dubai in he posting

It hasn't flooded here in central Texas yet, but we're not into May yet either. That's usually our wettest month. The Memorial Day floods in 1981 were pretty severe.

What floods are you referring to? I can find little other than normal snow melt and spring rain flooding. If you choose to live in a flood plain you have to anticipate the possibility of flooding. That's why it is called a flood plain. USA Today had an article about "meteorologists" predicitng floods, but no actual reports of flooding. That's the same BS we hear every year in the South about massive hurricanes and such. Global Warming nonsense.
People here do live in flood prone areas because they like river, lake and ocean life. They build houses on stilts to avoid serious damage.

Why didn't you take leadership and start a thread on it rather than engage in this cryptic guilt trip drama trek? I am sure everyone here feels for members impacted by natural or man-made disasters.

We have had the worst flooding ever.

We have not been affected at all as we live on high grounds.

But certain area have suffered extensive damage.

Roads were blocked because the drains couldn’t cope.

I'm on one of the highest points of land where I live here in central Texas, I'm at 1160'ASL. When we had the Memorial Day floods in 1981, the roads were all underwater + the valley below us sounded like the Colorado River flowing. Interesting to say the least. Gives you a warm feeling in times like that to be relatively self-sufficient with plenty of food, water, etc.

As some surmised I was referring to Dubai in my posting.
Guess I need to reread postings!

Will the desert break out in patches of vegetation and bloom from all the rain like it does in AZ, or is too little rain, too seldom?
