Our monthly game ran into a snag yesterday.

Only two left in the hand. I was out of the hand.

Player #1 says to Player #2, "I'm putting you all-in. How much do you have?" (We're playing table stakes.) Player #2 counts it up and starts to push it in, calling his bluff. Player #1 backs out of the hand and mucks his cards.

I shut it down. I told Player #1 he had made a bet and been called, therefore losing the hand. Player #1 insisted he hadn't made a bet. Player #2 didn't push it. After some back and forth everyone agreed to let it stand and move on. I don't agree that that was the right call.

My feeling is that Player #2 was asked to commit, and he did. Player #1 did not have the option to withdraw.

What do you think?

Ran it by a connection I have with Champions Club Texas. https://www.championsclubtexas.com/ He said Player #1 would have been offered a brisk walk to the front door and barred from any further play at any of their facilities.
