I'm talking about GoFundMe. I'm sick of reading how everyone that has a death in the family seems to want someone else to pay for the funeral. I thought families took care of their own. I thought that was an American norm. I thought families actually took pride in taking care of their own. If I couldn't bury my own family members, I've failed as a father, husband, brother, etc. I was reading an article lately where someone drowned in the Caribbean, they set up a GoFundMe to pay for family to go to the Caribbean to help search for the body. They reached their original goal, but after the body was found they kept the GofundMe open to get more money to fly the body back home, and to help pay for the funeral. Personally, if you don't have enough money to go to the Caribbean AND also bury your ass. You DON'T have enough money to go on that vacation. I've only been asked once to contribute to a GoFundMe; for a person I didn't know, and when I didn't contribute, the person asking tried to lay a guilt-trip on me. To me there is almost no difference between the guy with a cardboard sign begging for money at a freeway off-ramp and people asking for GoFundMe. The only difference is the guy at the off ramp has to put in a little effort and be inconvenienced when he begs. Sorry! Don't ask!

That’s a very accurate comparison. I completely agree with your view. By the way, I finally tried Palio’s in Frisco. I liked it for a different approach to pizza. I meant to be DSC Member...bad typing skills. Marcus Cady DRSS

A man should take care of his family that includes teaching to not beg. Thats a double shame right there.

As a member of the Osage Nation, we have a fund that helps to pay for funerals, cremations, and ceremonial blankets etc. I think that is a worthy use of the funds we generate as a tribe.

When I first saw this I was thinking who builds a casket, digs the hole, and buries someone legally anymore. I get that prices are up there for a usual funeral and burial now. And while if a church or tribe wants to do something, it really should be the family that deals with it. If you are truly indigent, most counties have some sort of process for dealing with burial at public expense. Most of these requests are just plain entitled behavior. I agree with you- if you don’t have the savings to bury yourself, you shouldn’t be taking multi thousand dollar vacations.

Now we even have a GoFundMe for a cop killer. That should not be allowed. https://www.foxnews.com/us/pol...puty-larry-henderson

Kensco, you nailed it, my exact thoughts. It’s part of the entitlement mentality that exists with many these days. NRA Patron member

A GoFundMe for bear damage. https://www.usatoday.com/story...-locked/83490924007/ Maybe we all need to stop buying homeowners insurance and just start a GoFundMe every time our roof gets hail damage.
