Knowing how Bradshaw likes to yuk-it-up, I would be tempted to discount anything he says that happens to make a great story except that he wrote about Phil Robertson back in the early 90's before Phil was famous.

In Bradshaw's book he said that he was "Phil Robertson's back-up" and that Robertson loved hunting more than football. Bradshaw said that at the end of his second season as Phil's back-up Phil came to him in the locker-room after the last game and told him that the team was now his(Bradshaw's) as he was not returning the next season.

Pretty amazing story.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

I like both Bradshaw and Robertson, but I'm really feeling for the poor coach.
